Brilliant writing and scarily believable!
Wow. This is a brilliant story! You have to have read the first book first, and so you will know that things were left hanging for our guys. Well, that was resolved, for a bit, but then there is more trouble...
The heroes are well written and have flaws, and the villains are great - and the authors are not afraid of letting the villains win, to a certain extent, and then keep them hanging around. All the characters are very believable, as I said in my review of the first book, and they still are - with some being very easy to loathe. If the sign of a really good story is one that makes you want to punch various members of the cast, then this is certainly a very good book. I remain very intrigued to see how the authors will progress this fascinating story.

A stellar read

With a very well thought out plot, good editing, and well timed pacing this book was a joy to read.
The conflict on earth is heating up, and events are beginning to come to a head. With the cult of cassandra continuing to cause instability in the weather time is running out for Ming, Colonel Graves, and Anthony Taulke to achieve their goals. With many twists and turns, and a profound ending, this book feels like the beginning of an epic storyline.

Living in this world is a nightmare like no other, scarily realistic scenarios that send a chill up your spine.
As the second in the series it pushes the danger even further and has twists and counter twists that keep you reading.
I like that this is centred around what a devastating effect controlled weather can have on our fragile planet and how people get it so wrong for what they feel are the right reasons.

excellent series, full of intrigue an accident.

Excellent book, a lot of twists and turns. Enjoy the character development of course better than the first book because the first book had a lot of world building. Really enjoying this series plenty of action and injury can’t wait for the next book.

Wow!

This series is intense. There were decisions that seemed strange coming from certain characters but they made sense as the plot unfolded. The general's role was the one that concerned me the most. The others all operated with billionaire short sightedness and megalomania, so totally consistent with who and what the character was.

The scariest part is that it seems really close to how I imagine such a crisis could, probably would unfold. Humanity in the control of idiots so concerned with owning more than their competitors that no one even questions the very possibly alien origins of the enemy. There were questions why the Cassandran prisoner was needed alive, since if she's killed the encryption key on Mars becomes active again and Earth's weather is controllable again.

This was a well written thriller with a lot more to come in this story. You will hate some of these characters for sure. You probably won't empathize with any of them. You will probably be afraid of what decisions they make next, as you read the next volume.

Absolute power corrupts absolutely!

David Bruns and Chris Pourteau keep the action right on track. Book Two of the SynCorps Saga picks right up where The Lazarus Protocol left off. We see the NEOs disrupting the world’s governments via deadly weather systems, the U.S. trying to save as many Americans as they can through the Haven Domes, through humanitarian aid, and through relocating survivors to safer areas. We see the major corporations whom we met in Book One plotting against each other. Within their own board room, its father against son; aunt against niece and lover against lover. If you think you can stand the constant action, the plotting and just plain rock’um sock’um action then buy Cassandra’s War and get reading.

SynCorp #2

I really, really enjoy these books until I get to the last page. They are cliffhangers. The first one was the worst. I really, really dislike cliffhangers. I usually give cliffhangers only one star, but I really like David's writing, so I was generous. You will have to decide if you want to be forced to buy the rest of the books, although they are reasonably priced. I'm still trying to decide about the next book, because I know there are several after that, as well. But I really did enjoy reading it...

They did not! :-0

Oh, they did.
If you enjoy intrigue, betrayal, who-dunit, military, action with a splash of romance, this series is for you. The end of this book is INSANE!
I love how they write the story from different perspectives and us readers get to see how it coalesces.
My hat off to you gentlemen.

The stories are getting betting and i like the reduction of the politics and (always) lying politicians. The nice guys are going to have to change as the evil characters grasp the power
Next book now downloaded, whatcha gonna do Tony???

Some of the actions of certain military personnel in a combat scenario made me scratch my head with a "that doesn't make sense, why would they do that in that situation" but otherwise is as thrilling and engaging as the first book. I'm excited to continue the series.
