Rebirth
The realities of the quarantine are starting to bite for the last few surviving vampires in South Africa, bound by council decree to remain in Johannesburg.
The council in Europe, meanwhile, feels that this solution is more than generous under the circumstances.
Cassia couldn't care less either way. She has other things on her mind.

Interesting. Vampires in South Africa. Vampires sick with a disease like AIDS. Vampires with ties to the Dutch East India Company and the colonization of S.A. Written in 2012, authors say it took five years to make. It ended like there would be more to the story but ten years later there is no second book.

A truly excellent graphic novel. Great story and fantastic art. I picked up a signed copy some years back. I read it as part of my annual ‘great graphic novel rereads’ which I always forget to review. Really a well thought out work. Just recently saw in the National Art Museum in Cape Town that the painting we all thought was Jan van Riebeeck was actually someone else. The ‘fake’ JvR makes a better vampire for sure.

A fantastic South African tale, with stunning artwork and a great story!
Having said that, it's very frustrating that the team may never produce a follow-up.
