I always enjoy Sara Bourgeois' books and this series with Starla is a fun series. Something dark is trying to take over Clownfish Cay and it feeds off the magic that is being used there; the more magic Starla and her friends use, the stronger the darkness becomes. So the only way forward is to solve the mystery without the use of magic at all and that is not easy when you are a witch and the problem out there is a big one - a murder, a creepy stalker, a mermaid and your best friend in love with what used to be your cat!

Lots of fun and games with the bunch at Clownfish Cay. Great read, and Presto and Nan are mysterious additions. I received an ARC and this is my honest opinion

Such an interesting series but ...

Gosh, I wish they would flesh the characters out a little more. This has the potential to be really interesting. Anyway, What happened to the ‘alien’ thing from book 1?

How did we jump to the engagement?? Why did Damek end up in Presto? What happened to Holden?
Why did the Elders not help any? Why did what’s his name end up as a ghost?

I’ve got sooooo many questions!! On to book 3 to see if I can find answers.

Kane is right Starla is nothing but trouble, but he has his moments too. I so loved that it was love at first sight for Damek and Blossom and that he's still loyal to Starla. I laughed at the revelations into Presto's life including the quirky Nan the librarian. Finding out that there are other mystical creatures in the world besides Noelani was a nice surprise.

What did I just read?

I usually like this author but this book was just odd. The flow of the plot was strange, it didn't really make sense. All I really remember from reading it is that they ate a lot of food, talked to mermaids and librarians, people fall in love in five seconds, and the island has a dumb name. I'm not trying to be mean this book was just that weird. I think I'll skip the next one.

Loved the series, the story line is interesting and fun. A few editorial errors could be corrected it other then that, I loved it. If you’re looking for a fun magical cozy, this is it!

I've read all three books in this series, and they're all very cute! There was a certain number of small tents and grammatical mistakes but nothing major unless your nitpicky. I love the characters I love the setting. I'd love more on Starla and Kane, and Blossom and Demak.

Snarky, simplistic break from reality! Well done. Although the 3 books are more like short stories, I like this author.
