There are two questions you need to concern you with if you decide to read this:

1. How can something this offensive be so funny?
2. How are the authors getting away with it?

My brother-in-law bought this book in a second hand shop recently, so I decided to have a look through it. Thought it was really funny and would read it again

I didn't like it, I wasn't offended, but it wasn't for me. Maybe it is a cultural thing, because some things I didn't get. Boring and I rarely laughed while reading.

The good stuff was great but the bad stuff was APPALLING. Jokes about rape, domestic violence and pedophilia are not 'edgy', they are despicable.

Teehee. So wrong and yet I laughed.

Some of these are hilarious and others are unbelievably wrong. But I still giggled my way through it 🙊

This was a Christmas present, and I read it knowing a bit about the webcomic and knowing it wasn't really my thing. The absurdist stuff is great, and several strips made me laugh out loud, but unfortunately a lot of the rest relies on shock value and being as gross, creepy and offensive as possible. It got a bit boring after a while. Which is a shame, because the stuff that doesn't rely on violent sexism or laughing at child abuse is really funny.

It's a collection of some of their earliest works, which made them so famous. Some of it are hit-and-a-miss, but boy when they hit! This brand of humour is not for everyone, but something I am used to .

Some jokes get repetitive, like the ones where a patient talks to a doctor, they both laugh, and the punchline is that the patient has aids/cancer/some other deadly disease.
I like Kris & Dave's comics best; Kris's "interpretive dance battle" comic is my favourite.

So four white guys think jokes about rape, sexual assault, domestic violence, and pedophilia are funny, as long as they call it edgy? Hmm.

Clearly the humor of it all is missing.
Sorry guys, it's not funny. It's stupid, obnoxious and pure prejudiced.

comedy is hard, the people who work on cyanide and happiness do a decent job at it

As a fan of the Cyanide and Happiness webcomic, it's pretty obvious that I would like this book filled with crude, often disgusting and always non-PC comics, although I would never have spent the money to buy it even with its bonus, never-before-seen comics, (sorry Explosm, I'm happy for you and all, I'm just poor and would rather spend my money on real literature).
However I was super happy to receive this collection for Christmas, so I did enjoy reading the comics, and so I would recommend this

A couple of funny strips, a couple of sort-of-okay ones, and the rest pretty much follow this pattern:

"I like butter."
"You like butter?"
"I like butter."

Reading this strip on the web, where you get one every day or two probably helps to keep them fresh, but reading a hundred-odd in a row it becomes very quickly obvious that there is no tone or variation to the comic. Surprising, given four separate creators contribute, but the whole reading experience is very much like hearing the same s

Excellent Excellent, it plays on the humor that is derived from the least expected, the most unlikely and the highly offensive. Yet somehow, within this precarious age bracket and reading this book, the oddly offensive is transformed to a witty and funny comic. At times ridiculously funny, at times lame and cliche. The humor it inspires within you cannot be fully explained, and when two read the same comic strip, one may laugh his heart out while the other merely glances over. Such is the humor ...more

A terrible, hilarious comic by a group of friends. I don't like all their jokes, but enough stick to make it worth a read. It's nice to have these in a book, rather than via a hundred clicks of a website. Volume 2 is just as good.

I love C and H but I cannot give it the full 5 stars as I dont agree with the child porn and paedophile 'humour' in this book.
The other pages are funny - there is so much you can laugh about but paedophilia isnt one of them.

An entertaining read, had me hooked from the first minute, great yet simple work, if you love comic strips, Cyanide and happiness is a great read, the right amount of humour and insults, make this one a keeper for the "Win" gags.

Warning : you may go to hell after reading.

These comics are hilarious. I read them on the website and they're so crude and random it makes me smile every morning.

I expected a lot more of this. I've read the comics online and loved almost all. There was few comics in this book that made me laugh.
