Linguistics is certainly not easy, and pragmatics is also a quite hard nut to crack but after a while in Grice world things are starting to happen and his theory actually makes sense and becomes super-fascinating! His article "Logic and Conversation" is definitely a must read for young rhetoricans and languages philosophers. It is very inspiring and Grice theory of meaning could for example work both as a theory and a method in a thesis. Grice as been in the game for a long time but since this is my first time reading about him and his theories I am impressed and inspired.
