Andrew Sanger is a travel writer and novelist who has lived and worked in several countries, including Greece, India, the USA and the Languedoc region of southern France. Andrew now lives in the New Forest, on England's south coast.

His six novels in print are Bella's Wish (2026, about love and friendship in old age); On Romford Road (2025, a 100-year-saga of two rival East London families who take different routes from poverty to riches); The J-Word (2009 and 2018, about secular Jewish identity); The Slave (2013, about human trafficking, freedom and lawlessness); Love (2015, a vivid tale of heartbreak on the hippy trail); and The Unknown Mrs Rosen (2020; about a former spy at the end of her life) .

Andrew is also the author of about forty travel guides, and co-author of many more, mainly on France and French regions, Ireland, the Canary Islands and Israel. His most recent travel books are pocket guides to Normandy (published by Footprint, 2013), and a new edition of Top Ten Dublin (Dorling Kindersley, 2020).

As a journalist, Andrew has contributed to a wide spectrum of print and online publications, including most UK national newspapers, and for ten years edited a travel magazine for French Railways.

The photographs inspired enthusiasm, the text provided useful info and tips, and the driving routes were indispensable.
