I went into reading Her Vampire Husband expecting it to be much like Kiss Me Deadly—not amazing, light paranormal romance. I think my opinion on the book benefitted from this, but I do also believe that it was a much better offering than Kiss Me Deadly by the same author, Michele Hauf.

Blu Masterton is a werewolf princess with her knickers in a twist because her father has arranged to marry her off to old and powerful vampire, Creed Saint-Pierre, in order to form a tentative truce between the wer

I heard about this books a while ago, maybe a few months and I was immediately intrigued by it. I when as far as scrounging all eBookstores and regular online bookstores to find it and when I finally realized that it had not yet been released I gave up for the moment.

About a week ago I found about Netgalley, where you can sign up and get Book galleys/ARCs electronically, so i got into it and at last was able to read it. I am absolutely glad I did.

Wow is basically all I can say. Michele Hauf can really write witty, snarky characters in the bundle! I was very impressed with Her Vampire Husband; it makes me want to seek out other books this talented author has written. Her Vampire Husband was so reality based with a hint of the paranormal that I was instantly drawn in when one of the main characters, Blu (werewolf princess), wore a lime green wig to her arranged marriage to a vampire (Creed) she never met. I will admit it, this is a romanti ...more

ust when I think I've read all there is to read in the vampire/werewolf animosity arena, I come across a book like this, which manages to shake up the standard tropes in a really fun way.

I had no idea going into this book that it was actually the third book in a series, which may explain why I did a couple of doubletakes while reading. For those interested parties, here's the series order so far, according to the author's website:

* #1 - The Highwayman
* #2 - Moon Kissed
* #2.1 - "After The Kiss

It's an arranged marriage of enemies to try and form peace with the nations. Creed the older, refined, sultry hot vampire and Blu the young, eccentric werewolf with a love for wigs. The first half of the book sucked me in, pun intended, with the great character development of both Creed and Blu and how their relationship unfolds as husband and wife. It was funny and well developed sexual tension between the two. Then bam, at the halfway mark out of no where, they are admitting their true love fo ...more

Very typical of Michele Hauf's novels, which could be a good thing or a bad thing depending on how you look at it.

Personally, it just didn't do it for me. Don't get me wrong, the love story was great, and the us vs. them mentality that they ended up with was just delicious.

I just had a lot of trouble identifying with our heroine. A supah hottie werewolf princess with an attitude problem, a psycho ex-boyfriend, and a penchant for colorful wigs -- not really my thing.

Had everything that all the

I have to admit, I happened across this book by chance and thought ... Why not, I'll give it a go and to my surprise I found myself totally immersed in the book and unable to put it down. I believe I read it in 2 days, I enjoyed it so much. The excitement, the angst, the mutli coloured hair and styles ... It made my day.

The main characters are Blu, a werewolf princess with enough razzed dazzle and attitude you could ever ask for in a female character and Creed, an aged old vampire who likes to

When I first saw this book, I was instantly curious. The blurb left me wanting the book, despite the fact I had absolutely no money to spend.
After going home and counting any and all money in my room, I went back and bought the book that had completely captured my interest.
Of course as soon as I got home I began to read it, and was pleasantly surprised. The main character is interesting, to say the least. There simply is no way to explain her without spoiling the book. The storyline had me sitti

Loved, loved, loved this. One of the best paranormal romances I've read in a long time. Werewolf forced to marry vampire; let the fireworks commence. Fantastic, engaging story that caused me a couple of late nights as I found it impossible to put it down.
This review is originally published at my blog and is one of my High 5, Low 5 reviews. The High Five are five things that have impressed me or that I really enjoyed, and the Low Five are five things that had me shaking my head or raise my brows in a less admiring way.

We have a colorful, sassy werewolf princess and a sexy, refined, old vampire, we put them together in a big luxurious house where they have to live together because of an arranged marriage, we throw a little physical attraction in t
A centuries long controversy between vampires and werewolves has led to a rather strange peace offering in the form of a marriage. With each species sacrificing one of their own for the union, the dueling parties wait with baited breath for love to blossom and the blood wars to end.

Blu Masterson, the werewolf princess offered for the peace-bringing marriage, has understandably developed a sad distrust of the males not only amongst her own species but of the world as well. Proving time and again

Ok, so I'm having trouble getting into this one. I don't know why. It seems a little slow for me right now, even though I love the idea of the premise. So it will go to DNF, but I will try again later. . .

Why I read: It was offered for review through NetGalley.

Favorite Quote: "I suppose you expect me to romp about on your furniture and tear it apart with my teeth, I probably better not wash or comb my hair either because that would destroy your mental picture of me. Should I stop shaving my legs and do the whole hairy thing?"

Blu Masterson is the daughter of Alpha Amandus Masterson and is the only female in her pack. Her father doesn't treasure her like a father should but gives her to his men as a prize and uses her as a pawn in his plan to attack the vampires. He has forced her to marry vampire Creed Saint-Pierre in order to present a fake front that the vampires and werewolfs are trying to make peace with each other. Creed is not innocent though. He has slayed many weres in his 900 years of existence and also has ...more

Don't let the cheesy title put you off

Connected to her Nocturne Wicked Games series, in Her Vampire Husband Michele Hauf gives us yet another immortal pairing finding love in the arms of the enemy - a vamp and a werewolf here instead of the earlier vamp/witch couples of the earlier books. This time Michelle Hauf gets just a bit more space to work with than the rest of her Wicked Game Nocturne books to tell her story and she puts the extra pages to good use in developing both her leads and spendi

Her Vampire Husband is about the marriage and alliance of two very separate worlds. Far larger than just two people, Blu and Creed's commitment is derived to heal the long time feud between the werewolf and vampire nations. Both parties sign a tenacious peace contract and wait anxiously to see how the marriage will take. Neither Blu nor Creed knows what to expect from each other as a species or as a couple. Both are plunged into an uncomfortable and seemingly hopeless marriage.

I agree'd with most of the other reviewers that the first half of this book was AWESOME but after the half way mark just really lost steam for me.

Very interesting storyline two enemies having to marry to make peace with their clans but of course the marriage was SUPPOSE to be a faux but how on earth do a feisty werewolf and a delicious vampire not fall in love? I really enjoyed Blu's spuckiness but it was hard to see Creed a centuries old vamp talk so modern. I missed the I think I'm all that v

Meh... This one starts out pretty well, but by the middle of the book, I found the dialogue between the characters starting to grate on me. I didn't think that he sounded mature enough to be a 900 year old vampire & she sounded too crude to be a werewolf princess.

The book's whole "conflict" (a pending war between the vampires & werewolves) didn't really grab me either- I found myself pretty much "skimming" to get to the end by the time I was 3/4 of the way through. The entire idea of th
