I really wish I'd read this BEFORE doing my first major portfolio redesign in about 8 years. This book covers the portfolio needs of graphic designers, illustrators, photographers and a few other professions.
The portfolio showcases are very informative, as are many of the pullquotes from recruiters and creative directors about what they like and dont like about most portfolios. It makes the case for a heavily edited 'aspirational' portfolio rather than a comprehensive one. A case is also made for keeping your professional folios seperate; dont mix your sideline hobby with your pro work. If you are going to take your hobby pro, give it its own portfolio.
