Leanna: Possession of a Woman

Rate this book
The life and death of Leanna de Noux was more than a mystery to Hailey Martin. It was the ultimate obsession. A writer from the Midwest, Hailey came to New Orleans to recover from a devastating personal loss. There, in the heart of the French Quarter, she found a room with a strange, macabre history. A room haunted by terrible secrets, forbidden longings -- and Leanna.

One of my favorite books about New Orleans, Possession, Voodoo.
This book has a beautiful rhythm as it tells the story of the beautiful Leanna and the woman who discovers she is renting the room were Leanna was murdered..
As Leanna makes her dark, sad secrets known to the author through dreams, is she trying to solve her own murder or relive again and take back those years that were stolen...

This was kind of a very interesting read. It is set in New Orleans mostly except for the part where one lead character Hailey makes a trip back to Wisconsin. You have a mixture of horror, voodoo, romance, and intrigue. This book is about a woman who suffered a great loss and goes off to New Orleans to write a book based on the death of a woman who takes possession of her body as she uncovers shocking details. It is graphic and unpleasant in some places, but that is to be expected. This story is wild and gross at times but will keep your interest if you read it. In some ways it is quite tragic. Some characters have alot more going on than realized. It's a page turner.

I really loved this book! Perfectly haunting for me (I like to be intrigued not terrified) and the ending was more than I was expecting! I would definitely recommend it!
