This is a great up to date resource on best practices and legal concerns for lease documentation. It comes with copies of month to month rental agreements, long term leases, Move In/Out checklists, Notice of Application Rejection, Move In/Out letters, Reference Forms, and notification of lead based paint. Most of these forms are in Spanish and English. The book goes through the importance of each section and what modifications you might make.

My biggest let down is that once you remove the actual templates, the book is probably only 40 pages long. I would have preferred more substance about how to design a lease and enforce it. I'm reading this 2019 edition just two years after being published, but it won't be long before many of the laws will be changed and templates will need to adapt. Fortunately, digital versions of the forms are all available on the NOLO website which kind of makes the book unnecessary.

This book was a very helpful overview of common residential rental agreements and leases. Online boiler-plate lease agreements tailored for the state I live in cost between $15 to $50; this book along with the CD rom contains many of the forms and contracts I'll need.
