My only major issue here is the translation, in Chinese these tales are beautiful and left to resonate properly in our imagination, as the Chinese language allows us, but the translation aimed to do the same in English which one cannot do as the language does not allow for such vacant holes, thus leaving the words but empty shells that appear as if they are penned by a high school student who thinks poetry is simply writing short lines and omitting words. To all those out there if you are going to read Chinese poetry or things of that ilk please learn Chinese as very few translators do the works justice.

It's a play about a soldier who sacrificed himself by killing the corrupted king and his minister. However, he died through commiting suicide and ruining his face by his sword. So, nobody would find his twin sister. Then his twin sisters it started to search about him when she found out the truth. She went beside him and permitted suicide. So they would die together and people would recognize her brother and a person who fell in love with him committed suicide as well.

那时候老师要求必买这套书中的至少一本，很多同学手上都是这本，当时甚是不解，这本看不出有什么好，而且《炉中煤》貌似选在课本，其它还有两三首选在读本，也就是说它的增加价值已经不大了。后来悟出，貌似是因为这本最薄，最便宜？
