Jamie is an author, wife, mother, reader and coffee lover who loves to take you on an emotional ride with her books.
When she was younger, it was her best friend who got her into writing in the first place. School was boring? Afternoon off? Fanfic writing was what they would do for hours to no end. Publishing, though, hadn't been anything on Jamie's radar until she woke up one day from a very vivid dream. It was one of those you can't get rid of, so she ended up writing it down. And writing some more on it. Until a full story started to emerge. It was her best friend who ended up pushing her to take the next step and put the book out there.
Ever since then, Jamie has been writing all kinds of different stories, all centuring around women or girls fighting against their inner (or sometimes outer) demons. The stories range from Young Adult fantasy, to women's fiction or contemporary romance. Whatever idea comes to Jamie's mind.
When she's not writing, Jamie can be found spending time with her friends and family, sitting on her deck enjoying an Iced Latte, watching one of her million TV shows or simply sleeping (cause let's be honest, sleep is hard to come by with small children). She lives in beautiful Germany where she's currently conjuring up her next book.
I started this book with 'hell yea, awesome!' I loved the storyline and the characters were well written. About halfway through I had the 'what is happening here?' thought and was worried that perhaps the story and derailed......so not the case. This had to happen so the pieces all fit together at the end.....which they did so well. Really enjoyable read.
The storyline was fascinating and had lots of twists and turns keeping you guessing until the end. Emlyn escaped her hometown from painful memories and settled in a comfortable town with a comfortable life. When a strange, old-looking not is given to her by a mysterious man, suddenly her life is turned upside down and she is traveling overseas to go on a treasure hunt.
Treasure hunts are fun when you know what’s going to be at the end, but Emlyn and her new friend have no idea what they’re even looking for. Their adventure takes you along with them as they search for clues, try to find meaning in them, and avoid whatever is out to get them.
This was a fun read. I love mystery, and adventure and surprises when I read, and I got it all with The Last Keyholder.
This book was a great read. This author has a solid writing style, lots of detail And her books are always an amazing read. The story takes you there and surrounds u with the characters thoughts and emotions.
I absolutely love this book. Jamie is such a talented author. Just a warning I am going to keep my review a bit basic as I don't want to spoil anything.
The book is very well written. It flows smoothly and is easy to read. Jamie did a great job portraying the characters, their emotions and the experiences they go through. The book kept me captivated from the first page through the last.
I love the characters. I'm not going to give anything about the characters or story away, but I hope you love it as much as I do.
Emlyn lead a quiet life. Which see seemed content with. But when she received an old random note, followed by meeting a god like stranger, her life was about to get a load more complicated...
Excerpt: This was crazy. Why was I letting a random letter get to me like that? It could be a prank, someone thinking this as a funny joke. But yeah, I went down that path already, didn't I? And realised that it's quite the trouble someone went through to give me this letter.
With an old myth lurking beneath the notes, Em was about to take on a journey to try and forget some of the pain she has endured...
Excerpt: It says the key holder has the ability to right a wrong. Right a wrong? That sounded mysterious. Just like the guy I'd met.... ...the mere thought of being able to change what happened made me hopeful again for the very first time in months.
Visiting Switzerland, London and Dublin, Em was about to go on the journey of her life with a man who was as mysterious as the quest she was about to go on...
Excerpt: Nathan Holwell was a mystery. Much like the key holder itself. And both I was determined to solve.
A story fuelled with turmoil and action packed right till the very end. I'm already highly anticipating the next book to see what the future holds for this pair we've been introduced to. An incredible read that had me captured.
Final excerpt: I know lots of people want to get rid of the worst decision of their life, but it's not worth losing your life over. Believe me. You gotta move on and try to love your life without chasing ghosts.
An interesting premise and easy read. At times it was a little slower and during their hunt it did become a little repetitive, but it was a thoroughly enjoyable read with some unpredictable twists and turns. I'm looking forward to following Nathan and Emlyn as they continue on their quest.
