When she's not writing or reading, Sherryl loves to garden, though she's not at her best on a riding lawn mower. She also loves tennis, theater, and ballet, even though her top spin has long since vanished, she's never set foot on a stage, and she's way too uncoordinated to dance. She also loves baseball and claims anyone who's ever seen Kevin Costner in "Bull Durham" can understand why.

Jenna is determined to prove to her Father that she knows his construction business as well as her brothers but he seems to think that women belong at home raising kids. She leaves Baltimore to go to Trinity Harbor to land contract for boardwalk revitalization and finds more than she was looking for in Bobby Spencer--she plants a carousel horse on his lawn to get his attention and it works until someone steals it.
Bobby is still suffering from his best friend running off with his fiance years ago and vows never to fall in love again -- until-- he finds a horse on his lawn and the whole town coming to see it!! His Dad King is not happy about it but finds a way to push Bobby and Jenna together ans she not only lands the contract but gets the man too.
There is several twist thru the story but they all make it better. Looking forward to seeing what King has in store for his last son Tucker.

Trinity Harbor, Virginia is a little ton near the mouth of the Potomac with a swath of undeveloped riverside land. The mayor wants to build condos for vacation rentals, but the owner of the land wants to build an old-fashioned boardwalk with sno cones, ice-cream, hot dogs and a carousel. With a few beachwear, souvenir and sporting goods shops, plus a cozy B and B thrown in. The ensuing battle involves nearly everyone from the local minister to the bookstore owner. The woman who gets the contract to build the boardwalk has another agenda as well: convincing the property's owner he wants to keep her too. This was a fun romance with likable characters and just enough complexity to keep me reading.

I don’t usually leave reviews, BUT I adored this book! I have somehow ended up reading them in backwards order 🙃 so I have already read #3. Seeing Jenna and Bobby come together throughout the story, despite trials that came their way had me literally squealing and laughing out loud.

I must say I am enjoying this series. I love the way Ms Woods weaves her way through the story. She starts out with a very climatic event that catches your attention right off. Then there are some highs and lows for a bit. Mostly misunderstandings amount the characters. Some are funny & some not so funny. Then there is a dramatic event that happens, some more highs & lows, some hints to the ending & then the climatic ending. This story really held my interest.
I love all the characters in this story. I even like the ones that needed a good kick in the seat of their pants. The hero was a little predictable at times but he wasn't afraid of a strong woman to love. The heroine was strong & yet vulnerable at same time. I loved her daughter she was a good kid that liked to push buttons but mom stood her ground. The father of the heroine was a bully. I would have loved to slap him one. The hero's father is quite s character & I love him. There were some surprises that were a little too easy to figure out but it was ok. Some of the hero's reactions to the surprises were a little annoying. I'm glad he was a forgiving person but he was a little too forgiving at first. If someone would have drop this bomb on me & kept it a secret for 10 years I would have been furious! All & all a very good story.

Youngest Spencer, Bobby, who was head chef at the local marina/ owner, jilted lover and Trinity Harbor land mogul met his match in Jenna, sole creatively, pushy, harbor developer entrant. Jenna eager to win her father’s approval, not only got Pennington and Sons the contract, but got the marina open as planned and on schedule. The stolen horse was returned to them by meddling King, and the story of JC’s paternity was finally revealed.
Plot was predictable in true Woods story plot style, and Darcy’s, Jenna’s 9 year-old green-headed daughter’s, rapid maturity leap was the highlight of the novel. Forgiveness was the underlying theme!

I truly enjoyed this book!
I read this book after reading the previous book in the series. It was nice to see that Walker, Tommy and Daisy are apart of this book.
It was neat to read/get to know Bobby better in this book. It was entertaining reading his reaction to Jenna. I enjoyed reading how King yet again inserts himself in the relationships of his children.
One of the things that I love so much about this series is the family dynamics and the love that the Spencer family has for one another. It is the type of family that everyone hopes for because they are there for each other.

Un libro al que no le tenía tanta fe pero que me enamoró, Jenna me hizo sentir muy identificada con ella, y con Darcy, creó que se entiende el porqué si digo que ahora mismo tengo el pelo teñido ya que me lo he teñido sola, Bobby es un pedacito de cielo, y que decir de Daisy, Walker, y Tuker 💗.
El final me pareció de locos, si bien supuse que King había tramado algo nunca imagine que fuera el causante de todo, y él giro de que JC es hijo de Bobby? me dejó loca literal, un libro que sin duda recomendaría y volvería a leer.

This was a fun, feel good book. I liked Jenna a lot Through the story she figures out how to stand up for herself and learns to trust her instincts. She is smart and sassy. I liked Bobby as well. When the chips fall, he steps up. In his relationship with Jenna, he supports her when needed. Most importantly he helps her see that she is much stronger than she realizes. The down side to this story for me was that we didn't get to see as much of Bobby's vulnerabilities.

This is the 2nd title in the series and it's about Bobby Spencer, the chef, and Jenna Kennedy who is trying to make a name for herself with a bid for Bobby's boardwalk redevelopment plan. I listened to this and it was a nice listen. Cute story, nice characters, and I look forward to the third book in the series.

Refacing the past
I enjoyed this small town, the family that drove each other crazy and the obstacles thrown up by the past and it’s meanings for the future.
As usual, I loved Sherryl Wood’s writing, the way she crafted the story and her secondary characters who gave this story life and texture. A pleasure to read.

A ploy to get Bobby's attention, Jenna places an antique carousel horse in his front garden, which ultimately goes missing. Who has taken it? Tucker, Bobby's brother who is Sheriff in town gets involved, then Daisy, Bobby's Sister finds out too, matchmaking is second nature!

This is the second in the Trinity Harbor series. I do recommend you read them in order. I enjoyed reading both books and am looking forward to reading the third. They are Hallmark type romances and somewhat predictable but they do have some surprises that keep them interesting. If you like romance novels, it is well worth the read.

Glad I stuck with this story. The beginning of the book did not endear me to the main character, Jenna. There were too many negatives to her life and her character. She seemed like too much of an air head and not a very good mother. That changed and I enjoyed her metamorphasis.
