Birds land on branches of a tree, teaching counting 1-to-5.

The numbers are represented with words in the text and with numerals on the birds. The illustrations are simple and stylized with bright colors

Our family has the matching puzzle.

Wonderful counting book for young children. The story follows the same pattern of Carle and Martin's "Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What do you see? so it lacks originality. But children do love repetition. What it lacks in originality it makes up for with its illustrations!

A straightforward counting book with lovely graphic illustrations. I suspect this one will become a favorite when my son starts to learn his numbers. Until then, he enjoys looking at the bright colors and shapes and touching the shiny pages.
