I knew the break-up rules. Don't try to be friends. Don't let him in after midnight. And most importantly, don't seek revenge. Pfft, I'm about to break all those rules starting with that bit about revenge. Loren Van Alst, the newly knighted Dame Galahad, has a bone to pick with her ex Leonidas Baros. The last she saw him, he left her for dead at the hands of the Titan gods, so revenge is a definite possibility. The two are reunited when Loren goes on her first knightly quest--to seek out the famed Ring of Gyges, which grants its user invincibility. Leonidas wants the ring as well, and they both enter a supernatural fight club held by a deranged fairy, where the ring is the prize. Now face to face with her ex-lover, Loren is torn between keeping the ring out of the wrong hands and using it to help Leonidas escape from the clutches of the Greek gods. He claims he never betrayed her, but even if that's true, he's still a threat to her heart. If she doesn't get him out of her system and return with the ring, her future as a knight just might be in jeopardy. Urban fantasy steps into the gladiators' arena in this modern day, action-packed, calamitous series of misadventures.
I️ love this series! I️ can’t wait till the next book is available. The Nia Rivers series is also fantastic. I’ve learned a lot of history reading these!
The one who stole your heart...or did you give it away?
The one you come back to in your dreams, when you visit your hometown or just because its 2AM and you're not ready for the party to end.
The one who is bad for your mind and your spirit but you body seems to always run the show.
The one you know should stay away from you and your poison but is somehow always within easy reach.
Ines Johnson is such an efficient story teller. She doesn't waste words or imagery. So when you see yourself or your best friend or your sister in her story you can't help but pay attention like she is giving you pearls of wisdom.
Loren's quest is a journey into the depths what is most precious most in need of her protection.
Oh, she's one hell of a knight even if she's not as much of a Lady
Sent on a quest to find the ring of Gyges with her least favorite brother -knight she has to make peace with her ex boyfriend who there is oh-so much unfinished business with who will she ultimately have loyalty with? Her family or her ex? Stay tuned kids!
There is suspense and action throughout this book. The drama is explosive with so much passion involved. Through all of this, there is a lesson in love. The kind of love that can tear your heart apart. This book talked of strength and courage as well. Excellent reading.
I am so intrigued by the authors interpretation of some pretty amazing legends that even though there is very little romance I still come back to devour more story. This is fantasy done right.
Awesome second book to this series. Lots of action and adventure. Love the witty character Loren. Love her sense of humor and adventure. Can't wait for the next book.
