Telling the story of one perfect night when Sallie, Beau, and their family and friends dropped their cares and came together for some foot-tapping action, this rollicking tale re-creates the excitement of the dance hall. Set in the not-too-distant past, the story reveals the dance hall as the hub of the community in rural areas, a place where people of all ages gathered together to share news, enjoy each other's company, and support each other in trying times.

1 Star – Probably only going to be read and enjoyed by the author’s mother.
2 Stars – This book was a waste of time for the general reader
3 Stars – While not a bad book, probably wouldn’t read it again/recommend it to a friend.
4 Stars – Enjoyed it, will recommend it to friends.
5 Stars – An excellent example of the genre. Will be giving it out as gifts.

...Bottom line: A three isn’t a recommendation. It’s a “You’ll like this sort of thing if you like this sort of thing” kind of review.

Meh. Wasn't a big fan of the illustrations.

I loved the ilustrations in this book. The artist, Terri Murphy, really captured the action, and brought life to the text. It's a 'feel good' book for ages 4-8.
