Thomas and Friends

Thomas the Really Useful Engine

Rate this book
A big rainstorm has hit the Island of Sodor. Suddenly, a bolt of lightning hits a tree, and it crashes onto the station house! James, Henry, and Percy are sent to get supplies to mend the roof, but when the three engines don't return, Thomas proves just what a very useful engine he really is. Beautifully illustrated, this 48-page hardcover with cloth spine is a charming, classic story that children and Thomas fans will treasure!

My five-year-old son, who is named Thomas, picked this book out from the library this week.

For a book that is based on a television show that is based on another book, this book was pretty good. I realize that is not especially high praise, but I started this book with not especially high expectations. And I was pleasantly surprised.

Actual rating: 3.5 stars, but I round up.

Superb writing and visuals. One of the best books of the series.
