I really like Ms. Walker's writing style, and this book was no exception. Her writing was good as usual, but the story... Man, how I hate cheating! It just ruins everything to me. :(
The first 2/3 of this book were good: Mike and Lori were interesting, their love scenes were hot (and slightly kinky) and I could see them living happily ever after. Unfortunately, the last 1/3 of this book was so awful that ruined the whole book to me: Mike's I-don't-do-relationships excuse for dumping and hurting Lori was lame, he didn't grovel enough to be forgiven and the ending was too abrupt. On a side note, Lori's ex-fiancé's unexpected psycho rampage added nothing to the story: it wasn't suspenseful and it didn't help further Mike and Lori's relationship. Why was that even there?
All things considered, I can't give this book more than 2 1/2 stars. A 3-star rating would mean that this was an okay read and I justcan't won't grant such "praise" to this book. I wish I could forget the last 1/3 of the book!

When kindergarten teacher Lori dumps her controlling, cheating fiancé, she decides to check out the sex club Expose to satisfy some unfulfilled fantasies and runs into her hunky best friend and neighbor, detective Mike. He’s convinced that a good-girl like Lori can’t handle his Dom/BDSM tendencies, no-commitment nature, and hard sexual tastes, but she sets out to prove him wrong and twists him up in the process. It’s a verrry hot story with some mild BDSM, D/s activity. The ending is rather abrupt and I would have liked an epilogue, but overall it’s a sexy tale with a sassy heroine and a hottie bad-boy cop next door. 4 ½ stars!

This was a pretty quick read and I enjoyed it. Lori is the sweet 'innocent' girl next door who catches her fiance doing the nasty with a neighbor, after denying Lori that very thing. So after dumping the cheating jerk she takes it upon herself to find her own kind of fun at the hot new sex club in town. While there, she runs into her sexy best friend and neighbor Mike. So from there we see Lori figure out just what is she really wants...... Super hot and a great ending ;)

I like Alex and Allie's story better. Sometimes I feel like it's a stretch when there is suddenly a life and death situation thrown into the mix.
I found this story to be really expected to the point of being a little boring.

Very quick read - but great. Where do these clubs exist? Big, big cities or smaller towns? I've never heard of a club like this. It would be interesting to go dancing one night just to see...

Re-release of Shiloh Walker's Good Girls Don't came out last month. I loved the book I wish there was more of it it was short and dirty. This is a great quick, light BDSM erotica read.
Lori has been rethinking her relationship with her fiance. Her best friend and neighbor, Mike, has noticed she has been getting more and more depressed each day he tried to tell her she needed to dump him. Lori scared that Mike is right but still doesn't do anything, until she walks in on her fiance doing doggie style with one of the other neighbors that she realizes just how manipulative and horrible her ex really is. Lori not taking any shit kicks him out head held high. Lori realizing all the things her ex held back from her starts to do everything she has wanted to do but he wouldn't let her.With the new change in her life Lori takes the bull by the horns and she gets a membership to the sex (BDSM) club in town.
Mike, local Police Detective, has lusted after his neighbor for years but she is so sweet and innocent and he likes things a little... more and is afraid he would scare her off if she knew his sexual proclivities. The last thing Mike expected to see was Lori at Expose, the BDSM club. Mike thought he was scaring her away but all he did was kindle the fire. After a weekend of outstanding sex Mike runs scared. Lori isn't going to run crying into the night; is she upset, Hell Yes, does it hurt more then when she found her fiance cheating on her, definitely, is she going to take it lying down, fuck no. Before Mike can catch up to her and apologize something happens with her ex and he just may have lost her for good and it was not fault of his own.
Overall, Read the whole thing in no time I wish it had more it wasn't near long enough I think it could have been longer and more detailed about the other suspense events, but I still Loved it. I loved Lori she was a lot stronger than she thinks she is and she knows what she want she won't stop 'til she gets it. And the bonus book is one I read last year loved that one too.

Mike Ryan is shocked to see his neighbour and bestfriend Lori at Expose. What is she doing there? She is a good girl and to ensure she is not taken advantage of, he tries to make her leave. But she refuses so he shows her just what can happen in this club.
But it backfires, Lori is enjoying exactly what he is doing to her judging by the moans coming from her mouth. It is not long afterwards that he decides if Lori wants to try all these things then he will be the man to do it. Why not, since he has been attracted to her since she moved next door.
All it takes is one weekend for the both of them to realise this is just not sex - there is something between them and it scares the hell out of Mike. He leaves and is determined not to come back but Lori has taken a hold of his heart.
Once again, another book that has all that a reader like me enjoys: Suspense, story, erotica and the works. The only disappointment was I felt the story finished too soon. I would have preferred an epilogue after the ending we were given. Perhaps delving into pushing through Mike's fears and perhaps the white picket fence after all? But then again, I guess the author (Shiloh Walker) has finished it this way so each of us get to decide in our heads, our own little ending?

This was a fantastic quick read. I was very impressed with Shiloh's writing style. Everything ran smoothly (a bit predictable and overdone? yes) but the story was very well put together. I was very happy with how the characters were portrayed. Mike was an ass, but he found his way. His words, his tone of voice, his domineering personality, they just made you melt.
My one complaint, and it's not so much with just this story, but many lately. Why is it that all men assume that women don't know their own mind? Lori knew exactly why she was at the sex club. She's not stupid. Stop telling her where she shouldn't be!
I almost wish that this had been turned into a novel instead of a short story. I can visualize where the story could have grown. I can see where Mike's partner, Alex, could have been brought into the story.
Overall? Very well done. I highly recommend this short read. If you like light bondage, D/s, and a little bit of danger, the type that makes you realize what you are going to miss out on, then you will really enjoy this book!

A very short story where two characters risk their friendship so she can experience a little bit of adventure in her newly single sex life. She stubbornly insists that she wants kink at a sex club where he keeps insisting that while she may want the kink, she certainly doesn't want it form a sex club, since he KNOWS she is not one for casual sex. Nevertheless, he volunteers, knowing he won't be committing to her. He's afraid of his feelings for her, and he of course does the asshole thing and runs off to get a BJ from some other woman. She sees it and after some heavy discussion with his friend, realizes he was a dick. Sadly, we don't get the grovelling that she deserves. He is forgiven way too quickly.
On a personal note, I had trouble forgiving his deliberate choice to go without a condom that last time without getting her permission...(even more so when they had anal sex!) This sort of thing has its place in revenge stories and other manipulating, but he asked her to trust him and she agreed. I can't help but see this as a violation of that trust.
