The Wheels on the Bus: Sing 'n Move Book

Here's a Sing 'N Move Book You and Your Child Will Love! Six Baby Genius characters join together in this lively, interactive book to show kids how to move when they sing this popular children's song.

All six Baby Genius characters show children how to move to the popular song The Wheels on the Bus Go ’Round and ’Round. When they sing “the wipers on the bus go swish-swish-swish,” children can move their hands from side to side like windshield wipers! Each character cleverly illustrates how to move hands and arms to simulate the actions throughout the book. What makes this book so much fun is that the children will be singing, learning, and moving with their favorite Baby Genius characters!

3. This song book encourages students to sing along and move their bodies to represent the actions that are described surrounding components of the bus.

4. This song book is efficient as it is full of repetition and similar lines that are easy to remember especially considering that there are movements that are associated with each line. I remember a teacher I had that would use lines from the song to grab the class's attention in a style similar to "One, two, three eyes on me" "One, two eyes on you". For example, she would say "The wheels on the bus" and we'd say "go round and round".

5. Teachers can make an activity in which students come up with their own lines that can describe the sounds and actions that happen in the classroom instead of a bus and make their own movements to go along with it. For example, a student could come up with "The crayons in the classroom go draw draw draw" and gesture as if they are coloring. We would then combine each line we come up with and make our own classroom song book with movements as well.
Teachers can make a worksheet for the students to complete in which they match the object with what they do. For example they would match "The wheels on the bus" with "go round and round".

Summary: This story goes over the parts of a bus and the sounds they make.
Review: The use of sound throughout this book is a great way to get children interested in this interactive story.
In class Activities: This story can be used for children to stand up and sing along and be active, this can also be used to build upon the sounds that other things in the world make, and this can be brainstormed upon.

Excellent sing along book, not a great bedtime book as it encourages a lot of movement.
