STORY: 3/5

CHARACTERS: 5/5

PLOT: 5/5

COVER: 6/5 (that is not a typo)

Even though this is not by the same authors of the Death Note manga and is an adaption of the "L: Change The World" movie, this book stayed so close to the original feel of the Death Note world and blew me away. L's character is developed so much more than it ever was in the manga, which made me love his character even more than I already did! His growth throughout the book touched my heart and had me tearing up quite a few times,

This book was great. It was a nice alternate perspective of what happened after what happened in death note.

L was alive and wrote his own name in the death note for reasons that I will not say. He only has 23 days to live and solve one last case.

The story was great and I enjoyed the cast of characters quite well. The whole disease wiping out the population angle was interesting. L was on top of everyone (like usual) even if most of it was by luck and being in the right place at the right time.

Purely buy this light novel because I love L, and I also love the live action of Death Note with the same title with this book, L Change The World.
The first thing that makes me love this book is the cover. Can you see how gorgeous is this book cover? And the illustrations of inside cover are so gorgeous too! So beautiful, you shouldn't miss chance to collecting this book.
I love the storyline too. It's different with the live action story. But this book still keep some points from the live acti

I didn't enjoy this one as much as the BB murder book. This was alright and it was good to be back in the Death Note world again. But I did find it to be a bit boring at times. It's probably not one that I'm going to be rereading in the future, unlike the BB one.

L, Change the World is a fantastic book if you have seen the show or read the manga. The book has a lot of fanfare for fans of the Death Note series. Also, some characters from the series make appearances in this book with little to no information on their backstories. With that being said, this book is filled with a lot of awesome and interesting characters. Not to mention being able to witness L (one of the smartest people in the world) accomplished even more feats of intelligence is always a ...more

L: Change the WorLd is a novel by an author who uses the pen name "M." It is the novel adaptation of the third movie in the live action movie series Death Note, which is based off of the manga by Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata. It will make a lot more sense if you have prior knowledge of the series (specifically of the movies, as they are notably different from the manga), though is still enjoyable if you haven't. The story is about the world's greatest detective, L, who must stop a terrorist or ...more

Only devoted fans who want more L will be interested in this book. The cover art is beautiful and I'll be keeping this book just for that.

The writing style was off, and it wasn't just translation issues. It read like someone had developed story boards for an anime, it got cancelled due to budget constraints, so they tossed it to some random hack and said "You, make this a novel!" and the person did their best by describing each and every story board with a few sentences. By the time I got to the

I hadn't had high expectations of this book.. I started reading it because I'm a big fan of "Death Note" manga and I read/watch/collect (almost) everything relates to it.

Suggestion: Don't read the book if it represents your first approach to "Death Note" world.. You'd better read the manga first (or watch the anime) otherwise it will be quite hard to understand the plot.

The book is a spin-off of the original manga* but I think it is quite far from the comic book and not only because of the diff

That's it. Selesai. Tamat.

I watched the film eons ago, cried a little at the end, and moved on.
I wouldn't be crying reading the novelisation of said film, right?
Right?

Despite the awkward writing that reminded me of a bad fanfic, I managed to get engrossed in the story and remembering L that I used to love.
My only complain would be the writing lol. It suits a comic-type thing, therefore, easier if you just suck it up and imagine it in imagery.

The cover and design are pretty thoooooooooo

My first light novel. This is an alternate timeline based on one of my favorite anime series and characters. The usual wit and mentally thinking several steps ahead from Death Note are present here and L is written as more of a protective character as he has someone to help in this story. The dialogue felt like it was from a manga or anime, which doesn’t always translate well to novels, but it was mostly fine. Besides a plot twist at the end, it was generally predictable, but the ending was touc ...more

Kitap, 2006'da çıkan filmlerin devamı niteliğindeydi. Mangadan bağımsız olarak alternatif sonun ardından L'in son günlerini anlatıyordu.
L'i yakından tanımakta güzeldi.

I was quite excited to read this book because I loved the Death Note manga. I loved L's character as well so I was interested in reading more about him. This book does take some influence from the manga but it does not follow the manga story line. I understand it more follows a live-action movie that was made based on the manga. I haven't seen the movie so I can't say how similar the book is, though.

*SPOILER ALERT*

I was a bit disappointed in this book. Not because it didn't follow the plot of

Different than I expected, but I was not disappointed; quite the opposite, I was pleasantly surprised. This was a whole different setup from the Death Note series, the only solid connection being L himself; even the Death Note and the fact that he wrote his name it and only had a short time to live were tangential to the storyline. If people were hoping for a bigger connection to the cannon series, then I can see why so many are disappointed. Light does not even appear in the story, the details ...more

What can I say? This book was a huge disappointment. A waste of my $18 to buy it. It is a novelization of the Death Note spinoff movie of the same name… and it can hardly match Another Note at all.

The writing style leaves a lot to be desired. I haven’t seen the movie itself, but I can venture a guess that the book hardly does justice to the movie. Almost three chapters in, I found myself stumbling around in the dark, lost and confused about who is who and what is what. I was also wondering, in

I wish I could recommend this to a wide range of readers, but in the end, I think only Death Note fans interested in collecting everything related to the series will want to purchase this novel. (Physically, it's one good-looking book, but it's pretty expensive on account of the dust jacket, cover arts by Takeshi Obata, a color page inside, a 23-day countdown on every page...you get the picture.)

On the other hand, for those wanting to see a more "human" side to L, it might be worthwhile to borr

Change the World is a tie-in to the Death Note manga series (which I loved) and is apparently a novelization of a live action Death Note movie (which I haven't seen). The premise is a major spoiler for a plot development about halfway through the manga: instead of losing his duel with Light, L. wins, and yet writes his name in the Death Note himself. I would have loved to know exactly how this came to be, but it's glossed over very quickly. Alas. Instead, the focus is on L.'s last case, an escap ...more

As a fan of Deathnote I was very excited to pick up this novel. Visually it's a beautiful book, the cover and overall presentation of it is simply amazing, however the novel itself left much to be desired.
I found the story to be extremely choppy and all over the place, and it just didn't catch my attention like I thought it would. As a fan of Deathnote though, it was a worthwhile read for the greater insight into L's final days, and this is really all the story has to offer. Personally I think
