This is an interesting guide to insects found on the front end of vehicles. The author travelled the roads, wayside rests, and bus terminals of the North American looking for patterns that occur when an insect meets a vehicle on the road. The twenty-four insects are alphabetical by common insect name. Each section has the scientific name and description, natural life history, fund things to do with the insect, the most common insect type to be hit by vehicles, and fascinating facts. There is a section in the middle with photographs of the insects and the splat along with a description of the splat. There are chapters on collection and mounting insects, games to play in the car, references, a glossary, and index.
