Well, they don't publish books like this anymore. This 160 page manual (?) has amazing scientific illustrations and no photographs. The authors are experienced scientific communicators, though there are some glaring errors that might be the result of the time the book was written (1966). I would recommend this book for entomologists interested in a review of historic pest insects or those that are studying illustration or layout design. However, I would not recommend giving this to a lay-person who may take some of the bad information to heart, specifically the dangerous recoomendations regarding how to remove ticks (thus the low score, 3/5).
