My first witch book. My first love. It was nothing like I expected. I devoured this book. I practiced this book. The results were my healed soul. I was struggling from my childhood sexual abuse in a christian church. I realised due to that damage I could not relate positively to a male god figure, I needed another path. I picked this book up in an era where was no net and very very few Wicca or Witch books. After all my therapy this book provided the healing I needed, spiritual healing. Im now very content with both Goddess and God and I love me. I still use elements of it in my current spiritual practice.

The very first ritual in this book was incredibly powerful. I am going to be very grateful to Francesca for this one ritual for a long time to come. But she lost me when she was judgmental against the Christian God, calling him (among other things) a sexist pig. I am not a Christian and am in fact not religious, but I can't abide by a judgmental nature toward anyone's religion. I realized that I would be buying into this mentality around the Christian God if I continued following her book. I don't appreciate the tendency in Wicca to bash Christianity openly out of bitterness or whatever it is.

I may return to this book at a later date, but I'm not sure if I will.

I worked through this book a lo-ong time ago with a former coven. It was a great book. The rituals in it are wonderful. Even though it has been years since I've gone back through it, I have incorporated a few of the most effective rituals into my daily practice. I have it on hand for reference because there are just so many nuggets in this book that are very helpful not only for the novice practicing witch, but for the experienced as well.

took a long time to read as it's a 14 week spiritual course based on a mix of faery tradition wicca and shamanism- do not be fooled by the title, this book goes much deeper than the title suggests- it's not light reading for a dabbler- it's a serious read for someone seriously interested in exploring the faith or strengthening their path. Has very been a very interesting and enriching read.

Completing this book has been a milestone moment for me, and I'm grateful for the journey. I enthusiastically recommend it to anyone seeking a deeper understanding of Shamanism.
