Interesting little book on being prepared for an unforeseen disaster. Heck, a big snowstorm could induce shortages of common perishables in the supermarket for several days or a week. What would it hurt to have some provisions on hand?

I'm not a head for the hills, get in the bomb shelter kind of guy, but there are not many good reasons not to be prepared. It only makes you a good Boy Scout.
