Sorry to say I didn’t get beyond the fourth chapter with this one. I did read the last one, but that certainly didn’t inspire me to continue reading.
For one, it was obviously a continuation of an established story. The author even mentioned a 2006 release featuring Allie and Daniel that started their romance. Then the guy jumped in front of a bullet for her and developed amnesia. Buh-bye romance. I didn’t get half of the things they were talking about in the those four chapters I read. The other half mentioned a mother that was a witch (hence bad) and a serial killer to boot, a shape shifting former lover that (in the previous book) Allie and Daniel helped go into the Apache Underworld to be with his dead wife, Daniel’s former lover that was both a cougar and hated Allie etc. etc. etc.
When Daniel Deer Runner got shot protecting her and lost most of his memory, Allie Whirlwind lost the man she loved. Now she is just friends with the guy he is now, but when she starts being stalked, Daniel can't help but feel that he must protect her. The growing attraction grows, but will being told about his past with her make him want a future with her? As they get closer to catching the suspect, Allie is in danger and once again it is up to him to rescue the woman he loves.
I enjoyed this book. It had some interesing facts. I think I would have enjoyed this more if I had read her earlier books in this series because it referenced back to some things in them.
