Like all of the other Ripley’s books, this book about natural disaster deaths and destruction and stories of miraculous survival is a quick read, one well suited for short spurts of reading. The stories are often incredible, yet they are the type that we often hear of when there is a disaster. I am always stunned when I see the utter devastation from a tornado but hear of so few human casualties.
Disasters due to weather, earthquake and sometimes human failure have always been and always will be part of the human experience. In this book you can read and enjoy tales of some of the most amazing in history. Embedded in many of them is an incredible story of survival.
