The Wild Amazone

Historically questionable

The author appears to have a preconceived notion of the 'average' person's opinions and motivations at this point in history. Several major features of the War of 1812 (privateering, conquest of Canada and the questionable loyalty of citizens in the recently acquired Louisiana Purchase) are evaluated in a manner which supports the author's bias but does not conform to documents of the time. The writing style does not hold interest well. Not recommended.
