Fighter Planes of World War II

Dramatic photographs and diagrams keep readers fascinated as they delve into this series. The first volume, "Airplanes of World War II, describes the kinds of planes, parts of planes, and codes the pilots used. The other three volumes provide more detail on specific types of planes--bombers, fighter planes, and training planes--including information on their missions and the weapons they carried.

A short, basic book geared to kids. Not very many planes listed, but they were the 'most popular' ones known. Simple facts. This is the first WWII plane book I've read geared toward the 10-year old group, so I don't know how to compare it. Good starter book. I picked up all four of these books from my local library:
Fighter Planes of World War II
Airplanes of WWII
Bombers of WWII
Training Planes of WWII
I expect similar from each of these books, so I'll just keep this same review (probably) for all four.
When 'major air battles' are shown on a map, only the Pacific theater is mentioned. No soviet or other planes. Just some US, couple of German, and Japan.
