Καλοφτιαγμένοι χαρακτήρες, αρκετά πολύπλοκοι, με διαρκή ένταση μεταξύ τους που κάνει τη σχέση τους σπινθηροβόλα. Αρκετό μυστήριο στην υπόθεση το οποίο κρατάει το ενδιαφέρον του αναγνώστη αμείωτο και ταυτόχρονα δίνει πάτημα στους ήρωες για να ελιχθούν και να κάνουν παιχνίδι.

This book bizarrely reminded me of Where Angels Fear to Tread by EM Forster, probably because of all the English people in Italy that are present. This, I am glad to say, ends on a happier note.

So, as usual the title has little to nothing to do with what actually happens in the book. Precious little of it takes place in Venice, the titular Venetian is actually half-British, and the mistress isn't much of a mistress because she's also engaged to him at the same time. Oh, you rascally editors. Wh

Ann Elizabeth Cree finished her first historical romance, A Bargain With Fate, while on maternity leave with her first child.
