Shelley Gave Jane A Guitar by Richard Meier is an interesting collection of astute poetry.

I must admit I had never heard of this poet until I came across a copy of this collection at my local library.

Meier's verse is succinct, eclectic, chaotic, and romantic. Poetry can be difficult to critique, much less understand, but most of these poems struck a chord with me. They also inspired me to be a little more daring when writing my own original poems.

If you're interested in reading well written poetry with a modern twist then I highly recommend reading Shelley Gave Jane A Guitar by Richard Meier.

I give it 4 out of 5 stars. ⭐⭐⭐⭐

I appreciated the refusal to serve - meaning or even the movement of a sentence. It kept interrupting itself by setting up a way for a sentence to flow and then turning away from it, refusing any easy footing. All of which served the direct lines and moments of humor.
