This book is about peoples' tics and and how methods to ease or suppress them. (The author has Tics so believe him.) If you have tics, and follow these methods then you could actually get rid of your tics. Tics are anything such as ADHD or what I have which is Tourette Syndrome. If you have been dyagnosed with tics then read this if not read it to learn about what I or other classmates have. In this book the author leads you through the method. First he explains what tics are. Then he describes what tics you can have have and how to identify them. Then he goes through this method called Tic Management where he first relaxes you by showing you how to breathe with The Breathing Triangle Breathe in for 5 seconds Out for 5 seconds and rest for 5 seconds. If you feel out of breath change the time you rest, breathe out, or breathe in. Then you need to find your tic on the chart in the back and its competing response. A competing response is something you do in a low stress area and what you do that is a more mild tic. Eventually this new Tic and your Tic will level out and you won't have it anymore. Also work on only one Tic at a time. At the end of the book he tells you to get cheerleaders which are basically firends, family, etc.. Who complement you on succes with competing responses and tells you when a tic slips through and you don't notice. This is really a great book.
