Going about her uneventful life, the last thing commitment-phobe Layla Jansen expects is to be abducted from a business meeting by one of her brother's crazy friends. But her brother, Drew, does know how to get himself into trouble. This time he's investigating a case of corruption that goes all the way to the top. Ruger Warner has a debt to settle and protecting the pretty behind of his old ally is an easy way to put the past to rest. But the sassy vixen has legs which go all the way to heaven and a mouth that can match his wit. Layla promises her brother she'll do as she's told and let Ruger keep her alive. But that doesn't mean she plans to make it easy for the hulk of a man who thinks he can charm his way into every woman's good graces. Layla has been accused of many things, being easy isn't one of them. This Ruger is about to learn that the hard way. Contains explicit language and imagery. Suitable only for ages 18 and over.
Writing has always been a big part of my life. Since I was a child I've known exactly where my passion lay. No matter what's gone on in my life writing has been my touchstone. After all, we all need a place to escape to. Reading is my idea of heaven. There's nothing I like more than to switch everything off, close the bedroom door, and curl up with a good book. I have a feeling that's something all at Goodreads can identify with.
Thanks for taking the time with me today. Now do something for yourself, go and curl up in your own reading heaven.
An all star cast! Scarlett Finn delivers again in this third and final book in the Risqué series. In this book we follow Ruger, the youngest of the Warner Brothers. With his carefree and lovable attitude, Ruger has charmed his way through life and into women's hearts. But this time he may have met his match. Due to prior events and circumstances (explained in other books) Ruger ends up "babysitting" Layla Jensen as a favor to her brother. Little does he know that this woman will have the wit and sass to go toe to toe with him. As the danger around Layla increases we see some of our favorite characters from other books making an appearance. What I love about this book is how Ms. Finn brings back all of the couples, not only from this series but from the Explicit series as well. It was wonderful to watch these characters interact with each other and I feel like this book tied everything up nicely and gave the reader the happy ever after that they're looking for.
This is the fifth and final book. The characters flew off the page and tugged on all my heartstrings. Ruger and Layla separately have tough exteriors and sharp edges. They hide their hearts beneath jokes and quick judgements. Watching their tough exteriors crack filled me with hope and brought me to tears throughout the entire book. Their passion is flawless and did more than just being me to my knees. The emotions are sharp and don’t miss a beat. I absolutely loved checking in with past characters and getting to know them better. The adventure is never ending. From the moment I opened the book I could not put it down. I devoured every word and I can assure you no heart is safe after you’ve lost yourself in these pages.
When Layla's life is at risk, Ruger promises her brother Jansen that he will keep her safe until the threat is over, but nothing is ever that straight forward. Game Of Risk is the third and final book in the Risque Series in which is Ruger's story, he's the youngest of the very sexy Warner brothers and what a story it is, I've loved them all so far but I think this is my favourite and as it's the final book we also find out what happens to the previous characters from not only this series but also The Explicit Series and The Harrow Duet (Rushe & Flick, Jansen & Serendipity, Colt & Lyssa, Blaser & Bri and Dax & Ivy), although you don't need to read them to enjoy this book it makes it more exciting if you do, they are all excellent books so I'd highly recommend them. I received this book free from the author for a voluntary review.
Game of risk is another in the saga of the Warmer brothers and their women. There is a lot of suspense and action in this book. Ruger and Layla are thrown together when he volunteers to protect the sister of a former cop he feels he owes a debt. The sparks fly as the two engage in lively verbal banter. Ms. Finn's characters have depth and her plot is exciting. Not recommended for under 18 due to sex and violence. Well written and worthy of 5 stars.
