Never read these before. Glad I did. Listening to these stories explained a lot. In the movie Excalibur, I always wondered what the story was with Merlin and the rock. Never understood what the deal was with Tristam and Isolde. Didn't know that Lancelot and Arthur fought over Guenevere. Always wondered if Lancelot if he became a Man of the Collar as it was intimated in Excalibur. I've always had a fondness for Arthurian tales, although most of what I know has come from movies such as Excalibur, Camelot, and King Arthur. This is much closer to the source material that Malory provided, I imagine, as I have not yet read his seminal work. The tales here are much different from the various movies and TV shows I've seen, and while the language is archaic for today's audience, I did enjoy reading these stories.
Many of you have seen the movie "Monty Python and the Search for the Holy Grail." I invite you all to read the book that served as inspiration for the movie. You'll absolutely love this classic tale of manly men and fair maidens.
