Hunter Trilogy #1
The Night Human Hunter
Jax had a life that consisted of endless moving to hunt the creatures of the night that feed on unsuspecting humans. He has only ever known life as a hunter raised by his single, night human hunter mother. The only problem is, in order to be a full member of the hunter clan, you need to be female. As he comes to realize there’s no place for a son in the matriarchal hunter world, Jax decides it’s time to take off on his own and see where he came from. Perhaps his father’s side of the family would be more willing to have a place for a son … but first he needs to find his father. A road trip to follow the source of an inheritance his mother had hidden from him his whole life leads Jax to New Orleans and a clan of night humans that were thought to be extinct. The Vampyre have been gone for close to two decades since their leader mysteriously disappeared. Jax wants to leave the night human filled world behind, but soon discovers that night humans are around every corner. While he does his best to not get involved, night humans tend to find him. Jax just wants to be ordinary, but fate has given him two options that are anything but ordinary. Luckily, fate will let him have a choice after all, but it is not as easy of a decision as he thought it would be.

Warning!
Reading this may cause yet another series to become addicted too.
This book starts off at a good pace, but slows don't pretty quickly. You're getting a lot of information in some pretty long chapters. Not that I'm really complaining. While reading this it kept reminding me of Sarah J. Maas' ACOTAR, which was such a slow pace that I thought several times that I wasn't going to finish it. Luckily if you hit around 60% in this it completely picks up to the point where you really don't think you can put it down.
I really like McMichael's take on the Night Human world is pretty interesting. Now I have only read the first book in the Legend of Blue Eyes series (I have book 2, I just need to get through my massive TBR to get to it). I'm pretty sure that these aren't connected to one another, but I can say this. Neither of the books I've read have been anything like your typical vampire books that are out there. Even this book compared to Legend is completely different.
Also I might add, there is no Strong Female Lead in this. Which is quite different from what my reading habits have been lately. It was a good change!

Wow this series just gets better and better. Fantastic main character with a good collection of side characters. The plot is great with a lot of action going on. There is a couple of twist that really get you. It is also very well written and flows quickly. I just loved everything in the book. No graphic sex or too much violence so I recommend this book for all ages. I can't wait for the next book to come out! I received this book for free for an honest review. Which I did. Thank you Kristin for a fantastic story.

Excellent story, ACR recommend
This story has me excited for the next in the trilogy. I was lucky enough to be an advance copy reader. Kristen McMichael writes entertaining stories in a world you can just glimpse at the corner of your eye and you know if you slide over quick enough you can join Jax in his hunt for answers. You might become friends with Jax and Jade. Nice work Kristen!!!

I love the world the Author has created in this series. This is book 1 and it does a great job setting the groundwork for the series. I was captivated from start to finish. You really feel for Jax as he learns about himself and has to make some tough decisions. I look forward to more in this series and from this Author.

I've loved Jax ever since we met him and his wacky hunter sister Jade back in Whitney's books (The Merworld. TRILOGY) . I really loved getting to discover his world alongside him. Finally we get to learn about who his mysterious father is. Even Jax knew nothing about him until he discovers a check in the trash sent to him. A rather LARGE check... And the hunt was on. Feeling ignored and emotionally abandoned by his big sis he trecks to New Orleans to find out more about his heritage. To say he gets far more than he bargained for is a HUGE understatement. I greedily read every page, and it left me wanting so much more! I cannot wait for the next book in Jax's story!! There are definitely a number of juicy OMG moments packed in here... And my oh my I cannot wait for big sis jade to learn what and who he discovered along the way! Warning :if you haven't read ANY of the Night Hunter series, you might want to read some first. Otherwise you might be a wee bit confused about the lore. If you're a fan of weres, camps, hunters, and all things supernatural this is the series for you. Major thumbs up here! These books are always on my immediate buy list and with darned good reason! Open the book and get lost in this entertaining adventure. Be warned though, it WILL leave you eagerly awaiting the next in this magical series.

****I voluntarily read and reviewed this book for the author.****
LOVED this new series. I never really gave Jaxton much thought before but I am a complete fan now. This was probably one of my favorite starts to her series, it was addicting, thrilling and it was ALWAYS good stuff. Also, I am the BIGGEST sucker for all things New Orleans, that city is magical, so I always get really excited when books are set there....that's why I got to say, bring on the Hunter Trilogy!!!
Anyway, I loved how it ended, the new siblings seem cool and the world that opened up seems intriguing, I really can't wait to see what happens next.
As always, thank you B. Kristin McMichael for allowing me to read all of your awesome books all the time!!! I love being apart of it.
5 stars.

Getting better and better!
I like how this book changes the format a bit from the previous books. It is actually really refreshing and made me like the story even more. This whole book series has grown on me but I really appreciated that the author went light, or even nonexistent, with the romance for this story. Not to say that romantic aspects are and were bad, it is just a very welcome change. I really can't wait to read what happens next and I have a theory that I want to be proven right!

This book has a different concept of paranormal life. It is a matriarchal society The women are in control. The males can stay or leave the family home. Many leave. They patrol against monsters that kill the people. I liked the story and have already bought next in series.
