WORTHLESS YANKEE TENDERFOOT

Beautiful Clementina Jones wore her sheriff's badge with pride. It had been her father's until he was shot in cold blood, and Clem was determined to use it to bring justice to his killer, and peace to Lawful, Texas. She had no time for the handsome New York reporter who thought a story about a lady sheriff would sell lots of papers back east. Wade Cameron was one charming devil, and Clemmy wanted him out of her territory. But that was before she knew that his kisses would make her pulse race, and that his very touch would send her senses reeling. Now she was trapped by her own desires…and she couldn't tell right from wrong!
GUN-TOTING WILD WOMAN

Wade Cameron was not about to leave the seductive sheriff alone, even if she had pulled a gun on him and called him a polecat. She was deliciously wild, yet seductively innocent, and night after night he wondered how she'd look with her coppery hair caressing her bare, creamy shoulders, how her soft curves would feel in his arms. He teased her with words, then tempted her with kisses, but soon he could wait no longer. He would have her for his own, and he would have her for always…Beneath a Texas Star!

Beneath a Texas Star by Emma Merritt (1991)…, another book I picked up recently. Interesting story as the heroine is a deputy sheriff and the hero is a New York City newspaper man who’s traveling thru the West hunting for a missing man. Instant attraction at its finest! Has anyone read any other Merritt books? She wrote a Viking one that sounds good.

Bonus: Gorgeous Pino cover
