Rate this book
"My search is over for the one book to give to someone battling cancer. This material is exceptional - the most helpful I have read on this subject." - Alistair Begg

CANCER. Nearly everyone knows someone who has had it. But do we know well the Bible's teaching that will strengthen us in the face of it? Everyone undergoes testing and trials. But do we do so trusting firmly in the goodness, wisdom and power of God? Here is a book that will help. My God Is True! is one man's chronicle of cancer and the lessons he learned through it. In these pages Paul Wolfe tells his story of diagnosis, treatment and survival, and he points to the glory and grace of God along the way. Above all he points to the faithfulness of God whose promises will certainly prove true. Read this story and be reminded that there is good reason - even in the midst of suffering - to worship and rejoice.

I don’t have cancer and hope I never do, but this book is mostly about suffering well and in this case the author’s form of suffering was by the hand of cancer. There is a lot you don’t know about cancer treatments and the process unless you’ve gone through it yourself or beside another. These things were helpful to know, the dark path of cancer’s road to recovery. Paul is transparent and honest about the difficulties and the struggles and deep depression one encounters when suffering. Some suffer well and others do not, but there are truths we must turn to in these events, that the deep clouds are filled with mercy, that Christ will never leave us nor forsake us, and what it looks like to be a Christlike friend for someone going though things like this. Worth your time.

An excellent book on the biblical perspective on suffering. It is a personal memoir combined with great theological orientation for anyone struggling through a painful trial, and particularly for those with cancer. I will recommend this book -- or perhaps just buy and gift it! -- to people I minister to in the future who get a cancer diagnosis.

A helpful read, whether you are along cancer’s dark road, have been down it already, or neither but will be better equipped should you or a loved one find themselves there. Also learned about the song “Whate’er My God Ordains is Right” and we are now singing it as a church body.

Clear teaching on the sovereignty of God in our suffering, including cancer. Excellent read for both the patient and the caregiver.
