Wing Chun is a logical, scientific yet simple Chinese martial art system, which was developed purely for practical and effective self-defence for everybody. It is a martial art known for its efficiency and economy of movement, which emphasizes natural and efficient use of the body. Topics include: · The fundamental principles of the hand and leg techniques · Detailed explanations of the shape, structure and movements, and a checklist for each technique · A detailed analysis and explanation of each of the ‘empty hand’ forms · An in-depth explanation of the principles and concepts behind Chi Sao, Wing Chun’s ‘sticky hands’ · A scientific and anatomical explanation of the basic principles underlying the Wing Chun system
I'm currently reading this on Kindle and although conveient for reading on mobile devices the rendering of the pictures generally isn't very good (this also applies to pretty much any Kindle edition of any book with pictures!).
That said, this undoubtedly is a very well researched and dense manual as to the methods, principles, concepts and techniques of Wing Chun Wu Shu as relevant to the experienced practioner as the beginner. I have a small library of martial arts books and I would say in making a comparison to other books of this genre this is pretty much one of the definitive guides to Wing Chun regardless of style.
In conclusion, to be recommended alongside any other books your Sifu recommends relevant to your particular style.

Never completely finished - but essential elements covered
No book on Wing Chun can ever replicate the depth of knowledge and experience gained through in-person training. I’m fortunate to have trained under Sifu Shaun Rawcliffe directly — a rare privilege that gives me some perspective on the value of this text.
That said, as far as Wing Chun books go, this stands out as the definitive modern reference. It's clear, detailed, and comprehensive in its breakdown of the forms and the movements they contain. The book can be read cover to cover by the committed practitioner, but it’s equally useful as a reference guide — something to return to when refining technique or seeking clarification.
