Sherlock Holmes introducing us to computers? It's a novel idea, and fairly well written. There are several new Holmes stories, all centered around the "analytical machine", Charles Babbage's theoretical proto-computer, and then the rest of the book is an introduction to computers... circa 1983. So, yes, it's extremely dated, but the stories are decent enough, and it's sometimes amusing to see what people thought computers might amount to.
