Storyline - A book about the much loved Topsy and Tim getting a new puppy (which they call Rolly-Polly) and what care needs to be taken of a puppy.
Themes: changes, pets, care of animals, self care, emotions.
Activity ideas:
- Children could discuss how to care for different types of pets e.g. dogs, cats and fish.
- Children could write down all the things a puppy likes to do.
- Children could look at how Topsy and Tim felt when they first saw the puppies.
- Children could look at the names of baby animals and then link it to groups of animals e.g. lamb, sheep and flock.
