Ready to enjoy a BBQ with Paige, Zack, Nick, and Nate, the secrets start unfolding before Katie McKenna eyes. Katie hadn’t been aware of Nick’s mysteries, that is until she found out he has an identical, twin brother, Nate…two inches shorter than him. Though they look so much alike, she learns, they couldn’t be more different in personalities. Ethan shows up unexpectedly, and right away, discerns Katie has a perceptive spirit…meaning she is in tune with the inner person. Ethan informs Nate that he is cursed with darkness passed down to him. Then he tells Katie and Nick that a group called the A.N.G.E.L.s are looking out for them and that they are to stay vigilant. It was supposed to be a blissful summer in an Aussie paradise; however; even though it is excellent weather, all the stresses from life don’t seem to burn off. Katie soon finds out that the outback brings a whole new bundle of mysteries, test, and trials.
Bursting with escapades, expectations, and anticipations, this fourth installment in the Grace Restored series is a fantastic continuation of the story. An inspiring, Christian message weaved throughout the pages; CJ Peterson's book will keep you on the edge of your chair anticipating what will transpire next. Bravo to a great addition to the tale. Though it is a series, Summer Secrets is a beautiful story all on its own. Even so, read the first three books first to get the entire picture of what is going on.

**★★★★★**
*Summer Secrets* by C.J. Peterson was such a captivating and emotionally rich read that completely pulled me in from the very beginning. I loved how the story carried this warm, summery atmosphere on the surface while slowly revealing deeper layers of hidden truths and unresolved emotions underneath. It made the reading experience feel both light in tone and emotionally complex at the same time.
What I enjoyed most was the way the story built around the idea of secrets coming to light during a season usually associated with freedom and happiness. The contrast between the bright summer setting and the more serious emotional revelations gave the book a really interesting balance. I found myself constantly curious about what each character was hiding and how those secrets would eventually affect their relationships.
The character development was another highlight for me. I especially liked how the main characters were shaped by their past decisions and how those choices slowly came back to impact their present lives. As the story unfolded, I could see them beginning to confront things they had avoided for a long time, and I appreciated how natural and realistic their growth felt.
The relationships in the book added a lot of emotional depth. There were moments of tension, misunderstanding, and heartfelt connection that made everything feel very grounded and real. I liked how the story showed that relationships are complicated and often require honesty, forgiveness, and courage to move forward.
The pacing kept me engaged throughout the entire book. Each chapter revealed just enough to keep me wanting more without giving everything away too quickly. I found it easy to stay invested because there was always a sense that something important was about to be uncovered.
Overall, *Summer Secrets* was a beautifully written, emotional, and engaging story about truth, growth, and the impact of hidden pasts. It was full of heart, layered characters, and meaningful moments that stayed with me after finishing. This was an easy five-star read for me, and I would highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys character-driven stories with emotional depth and a touch of mystery.

October 4, 2015Very good read and exciting to the end. Katie has a lot to intrigue us with and can't wait for the sequel. Light reading and good enough to keep me reading without interfering with my Bible study. Great read while waiting anywhere and before sleep time.m
