This is a nice cookbook for someone who likes to cook but doesn't want to use elaborate meals. But WARNING this is NOT a cookbook for a regular family. There just are too many meals that still would cost too much or take too long for the average family with kids in school, young children (under 4), or both parents working outside the house.

Benefits of buying/using this book is there are a good variety of meals, they break it down by meats (chicken, lamb, etc.) and there are a good amount of veggies. I love that they also have pages to break down the parts, uses, and cooking instructions for the meats and veggies (also how to buy and store veggies) in their at a glance pages throughout the cookbook. BEAUTIFUL pictures. Unfortunately though I won't be using this book (got it from the library) because I just don't have the time or mind to do some of this stuff. I wish I could find an economical, easy/simple cookbook for families.

I'm a huge Real Simple fan and this book is no different! I love the recipes in it. They use ingredients I usually have on hand and are so yummy and simple. I got this book at the library but I am buying it for my birthday!

4 stars because they omitted some of my favorites from the magazine, but now I have four meals (2 recipes) selected for next week
