A great book with three stories about women in Utah. Abigail has finish school in the East to be a doctor when her only living relative (her brother) invites her to travel to Utah to live with him. The trip getting there is nothing like she expected, a train delay, a capture from a mean man, an Indian attack, and finally a long and dangerous horse ride of several days. Ellie has inherited her grandfather's bed and breakfast with the idea he has left her a lot of money to keep it running. Only she finds out he spent it all to have a carousel built outside their home. And finally, Tabitha is helping her father who is an archaeologist and there are mysterious attacks on all of the men that are working in that area.
I loved that all three stories were so varied and interesting. The author did a fantastic job of creating likable and unique characters. The stories were each only about 120 pages. The author really was able to develop plots and dispositions in a a few chapters. I did not understand one little thing the author referenced in the third story; the use of the term "archaeologist". Since they were digging for dinosaur bones, I would have thought the term "paleontologist" would have been more appropriate.
I don't know what it was about this book but I had a hard time reading it. There was horrible writing and then the fact that the character was in Utah around the 1800 and didn't run into a Mormon. Kind of unbelievable to me.
I found this book to be a charming, easy read. It includes three Christian stories of historical romance, each with its own unique setting, sympathetic characters and intelligent writing. It would make a good beach read, or to take away on vacation, or for anyone who reads to relax.
It was a nice book for entertainment but not a favorite. I liked the last book The Greatest Find the best of all of them. It is good for good clean easy reading but "not anything to write home about"
Loved this collection of three Novellas from the state of Utah. All 3 take place in the 1800's. They are well written and what made them especially fun for me is that I lived in Utah for 16 years and could picture the scenery in my mind.
