If you invite me to a baby shower I can guarantee you that I will not be bringing a bag of diapers. My go to baby gift is a bag of books. I have several that I keep on hand just for these occasions. I now have one more to add to the mix.

Little One, God Loves You is beyond adorable! It contains the message that is more important than any other . . . God Loves You. The author is Amy Warren Hilliker, daughter of Rick Warren. Amy has taken the five purposes from her father's book The Purpose Driven Life and turned them into a delightful set of verses that will speak truth into your little one's life.

All the mommas know that board books will be read to their little ones over and over and over. So I say if you're going to be doing that why not read something to them that will instill the fundamentals of what they are here for. This little book will let them know that they are loved by God and made to be a special part of His family. It will also remind them that they have a responsibility to be a helper and share God's love with others.

This book was originally written in 2004 and it was cute but this new addition is so much nicer. The illustrations by Potona Lovsin are reminiscent of ones found in Beatrix Potter books. The little bunny family is beautiful. Not only would this make a great baby shower gift but it would also be a wonderful addition to a toddler's Easter basket.

I received a copy of this book to facilitate my review.

About the Book:
Little One, God Loves You, written by Amy Warren Hilliker and inspired by the New York Times #1bestseller The Purpose-Driven Life, is a cute and cuddly board book that let’s children know God made them solely for the purpose of loving them.

My Review:
Such a precious book especially written for 2-5 year old children in mind. It is touching and very thought provoking. One of the best things about this sweet board book is that it perfectly explains to our littles the importance of God's love for them. It also shares ways of showing that love towards others. Great gift idea or Easter basket filler!

**Disclosure** This book was sent to me free of charge for my honest review from the author.

"Little One, God Loves You" is a rhyming Christian board book for preschoolers (up to age 4). The book showed a small bunny interacting with family and friends. The text is very simple so even fairly young kids should be able to follow along. It explains that God loves you, made you for his family, and helps you grow. So be God's helper (help others) and show others God's love. It's a good message and lovely illustrations. All of the art has the same look and style as the cover picture. I prefer illustrations like this, where the animals look more like the real thing (rather than a cartoon) yet still look warm and cuddly. I'd highly recommend this book.

It is never too early to tell your child how God has created him or her and has a purpose for their lives and a place in His family. From the first brightly illustrated page to the last, children are reminded of how much God loves them. A simple message with a big impact. Looking for items to fill the Easter basket? Little One, God Loves You would make a great addition.

Recommended.

Audience: children ages 4-6.

Amy Warren Hilliker, daughter of Rick Warren, has written a delightful book to share with little ones. This board book assures children that God loves them. The playful rhyme is easy to read aloud and will be fun to share with small children. I love the illustrations. The sweet bunnies in the story, depicted in various scenes of play and family life, bring the text to life. They're sure to bring a smile. This would be a perfect Easter gift.
I received this book in exchange for a fair review.

LITTLE ONE, GOD LOVES YOU is a sweet little book for infants and toddlers. Above it says 4 - 8 years but I think that is a considerable stretch. A two or three year old might enjoy it, but and eight year old, not so much. The pictures are cute, the words large and easy to read. A good book for cuddling your favorite baby or toddler, great for church nurseries and day cares.

I like the thoughts communicated in this book, but the illustrations are not as strong as I'd like and I also wish the book were a bit more substantive.
