Q: The fight club was in the basement below floor one. (c)

The most dynamic volume of the series so far. Some of my braincells have died over reading it but, considering all the fun I had otherwise, I think I'll do a full recovery.

The fun includes:

The meeting of Red (new MC), Molly the Bruiser, TL the Tommy and Joe the Mystic was quite intense. And angsty. So, I approve.

Molly seems to be the resident specialist in running fight clubs. Yep, real ones. Bothering her is not the best ever action plan (or she might reconsider 'resetting meridian points' essentially giving one an unexpected nap time). She goes so dynamo this time around!

The lovers triangle almost got me docking points but the save worked. Halleluja!

Quirk/GiGi/Chapling/Mystic and the rest of the company seem to be relearning the art of casual talk.

And the team building/cheering is in the highest demand since the start.

Fight club marketing according to Molly:
Q:
All of them entered through a secret passageway in the nearby train station. That was part of the allure. The secretiveness, exclusiveness, the betting, hoping for a gruesome fight. It fulfilled some dark side of them. …
“No rules except BLOOOD. We have to see BLOOOD.” (c) Isn't she the cheery one? They totally should've strung her along for the cheerleading team tryouts.

Other tidbits:
Q:
He didn’t want to go the hospital because he was afraid.Afraid they’d find out who he was. Afraid they’d find all of the street kids. Afraid he’d die. Afraid this warehouse would be raided. Afraid of everything and everyone. (c) So sad.
Q:
“I made her my own personal blend of herbal tea,” Mystic said. “She should drink it once a day for tranquility, relaxation, and sedation. Lord knows she could use it twice a day.” (c) Or thrice.
Q:
Life was a lot easier when only computers rocked my world. (c)
Q:
Why did it seem like it was my job to convince my team members to go on missions? When had I become the ranch’s Psychologist? (c)

The made up stuff is still irritating as ever:
Q:
“It’s all based on a person’s unique geometrics and the intermolecular attraction of all elements involved.” (c)

GiGi gets to ogle a bunch of shirtless epilated men:
Q:
I didn’t think I’d ever been greeted by so many shirtless men. So many muscular, shirtless men (c)

GiGi the robot:
Q:
Appreciation, warmth, affection, longing . . . love?
I tried hard to show him those same things before turning away and getting down to work. (c)

Okay I'm kinda having mixed feelings about this last book in the Specialists series.
Well I'll start with the cons: I read it in the form of an e-book. Enough said.
The Mystic story was similar to Meg Cabot's 1-800-Where-R-You? series. So I couldn't really enjoy that part. And I still don't understand the whole "I need to see her eyes to figure out where she is" thing. And I definitely did not like re-introduction of Professor Quirk into this last book. I get that the author is trying to tie off all loose ends. But, still.
AND THE BOOK IS TOO SHORT. Gahh. To me, that's the main problem. Some parts are rushed through. I just wish it could be longer, for a final book in a series.
Pros: The series is an undeniably, freakishly enjoyable read. The technology mentioned is avant-garde cool. You will definitely pick up some new (weird) things while reading. The plot is kinda amusing, tho I doubt it's meant that way. Hah.
So overall: Nice. It would've been much better if it was longer. Much longer.

i really liked this! i admit i was intrigued with some of the drama with gigi and david, but i love how they were with each other, especially the body language. i wish they had more interaction on the romance front, though. i feel there could've been more when they made up...

also, the ending felt rushed. it was super awesome up to the point when they found out where the kidnapper was. after that, everything happened so quickly that i was literally said, "wait, what? what just happened?" but i suppose that could've been deliberate, going with the idea that things happen quickly in that line of work.

overall, a good ending. it could've been better, but it wasn't bad. i really really liked the MMA! and the bruiser/mystic moments! they are too funny!

Okay, I want to preface this by saying this book was waaaay too short. Her books at most are usually only 200 pages which I can read easily in a hour and a half or so but this was just nope!

Despite the length, these two were the most interesting characters of all (besides wirenut, I have a soft spot for him) and they were kind of rushed through! I would've liked to see their backstories fleshed out a bit.

I think the cliffhanger was on the back of my mind throughout the entire book so I would question when she was going to get to it constantly. One thing I did absolutely love was the idea of teaching someone who is non-violence and generally is a pacifist- how to fight in an underground fighting ring. Bringing TL into this kind of kicked up the stakes in the game.

I wasn't devastated by the repercussions of Gigi's actions in the last book because the boat wasn't so rocky and I don't know it just wasn't something major for me.

It was a good conclusion to this series, I'm a bit upset about TL + again, how short it was but for what it is I would definitely reread.

Plus, the ending finally put an end to my questions!

It was too short...!!
I was excited with the initial plot, when Randy/Quirk appeared i thought things gonna be interesting but... he just arrive and say to Gigi that he want to be friends with her... Actually i don't know why they put him in this book, just with a reference of him would have been enough... He really don't do anything in the story...

And the introduction of her sister in the last pages? really? It was like "oh right, i have to put the sister in the book" ... Ugh.. That really annoyed me...

Of course i loved the fights and the training =D

The soul to soul that everyone had in this book was one of the things that i enjoyed, that and the special connection that Gigi developed with Parrot, they were so cute, i would loved for a twist and that they would finished together ..

Well.. I loved this series, it just that this last book didn't convince me...

as with all of them i was kept interested throughout. There were a lot of loose ends that were tied up but some that i thought were left hanging. Maybe I missed something in there as sometimes happens. I will miss this motley group of teens and wonder how they will fair as adults. this whole set are clean and good reads for teens and YA but anyone can enjoy. A touch of romance but never anything mushy or anything like that. I recommend the series to any who like mysteries.

This is the end of the Specialists-the last book in the series. It is seeped in tragedy and blood. It is unbelievably descriptive to the point I could hear things mentioned in the book as they were happening. It turns out that Bruiser and TL were basically raised and trained as fighters by the same man a decade or so apart. TL and Nalani's 7 year old daughter has been kidnapped and somehow Mystic has determined it has something to do with the Demise Chaine Fight Club. In order to find their daughter Zandra, Mystic and David have to audition to become the fight club owner's fighters, and then Mystic will be able to figure out where Zandra is being held.

The owner, Harry Noor, also needs a computer program that will allow the chosen fighter to receive information as to how to win their fights and expose the opponents weaknesses. Enter GiGi and Chapling and the most complex and impressive computer program ever developed. It works so perfectly that Harry tells his fighter what to do and the fighter ends up killing his opponent.

The author managed to combine two of the Specialist's first missions to make an incredibly complex and gruesome story. Violent and graphic, with senses overloading, we hear ligaments popping, and can see blood gushing from the fighter's injuries. It was very intense and fitting for the last book of the series. Loose ends all tied up, the author made it clear there would be no more books about the Specialists. Too bad, because they were awesome!

Now as it's the end, my favorite characters - Wirenut and Chapling. Though, I also like Bruiser's peppy nature. I mean they all are amazing in their own special ways. I really, really want to see Wirenut's shoulder dance. My favorite book is - Down to the wire (the one with wirenut).
Now, back to this book.
● Finally, I got to read about Mystic. I was curious about him ever since he was introduced.
● I really liked the whole David-and-Mystic-being-fighters idea. Especially since Mystic believes in peace.
● I loveeeeed it when all of them (Team 2) shared their experiences and circumstances that led them to the Specialists. There were no secrets and they became a real family. That scene earned a happy and emotional tear.
● I also liked Bruiser's revenge on that fighter who hurt Mystic.
● In short, I enjoyed the book.
But,
● The book was short.
● I felt the topic of Gigi's sister was incomplete. I mean, she just shows up at the end and everything is happy and the book is over. Gigi's sister is wanted for many crimes what about that. So, I felt ending was hastily written.

But that's okay. I can adjust.
This an amazing series to read if you like teenage being spies or spying school kind of stuff.

Happy Reading !!!

So, I finally finished reading the whole series, and so I decided to write a brief review. I would say that I liked (but didn't love...) the overall plot overall. The ideas were smart, but I found that there were so many repetitive things that happened in the book. I liked it to a degree, but then it turned boring. I expected more. It reminded me of "Gallagher girls series". Oh well, that series is just something you can't compete with. I don't feel like that there was an extraordinary development since the books are so short.
I don't know if its just me, but I want a detailed version of this series which acknowledges what happened to each character as there is so much that could happen. I feel like all the characters seemed important...

This time the stakes are high enough to bring in the entire team.

This is the fifth book (and last, at least for now) in a teen spies series featuring a group of smart and tough kids keeping the world safe. Each book works just fine as a standalone story, so feel free to read them in any order.

I am enjoying this series more and more with each book that I read. The plot is fun and easy to read with enough twists and turns to keep things interesting. This was an exciting climax to the series and I hope that we get to revisit the team again in the future.

Highly recommended.

Idk.

I really loved the first book of this series when I was younger. I was able to read the second one and then dropped the ball on finishing.

Now, finally, I decided to put forth the time to finish the whole series and I ran into some struggles. First, the third and fourth books were not available through any means I had except inter-library loan and then I had to purchase the Kindle eBook for the final one.

And the final book just felt so rushed. I liked hearing about everyone's backgrounds and stories, but rushed just sums up the whole series from book two onward.

Eh.

The last book is the best in the series! As they say, save the best for last. This comes close to The Winning Element but this novel stood out a bit more because of the action involved.

Molly/Bruiser is amazing and I love strong female characters. In the last book, I hoped that GiGi would somehow end up with Randy/Professor Quirk but since David and GiGi had a history, I guessed that David would do.

I wished that the ending was longer. It was too short.

Anyways, this series is available on Amazon for 9.99 USD and is seriously worth every penny!

This is the fifth and final book in The Specialists series and was, unfortunately, a little too short to cover all the points that could have been covered. However, I still enjoyed reading it and the entire series. This story had a kidnapping, violence, danger, humour, and some romance. An enjoyable series for readers of any age.

Overall, I like it, but yeah: I agree with many people out there. It was rushed at the end, and did not feel like an ending at all. How do you cut the series like that? Because it is what it felt like.
So, dear Shannon... resurrect them? Please?

went through all 5 of these books in just a few days! they were all really enjoyable. Since I read them all so fast I noticed that all the books have a similar plot and you end up expecting some things to happen, but overall it was a great book. Would definitely recommend!

Fight to the Finish is a fairly short book despite its status of being the last installment. Honestly, it should had been at least two hundred pages, but oh, well. What is done is already done, like this book and everything else I'd read. (With the exception of ARC books. They still have a chance at redemption).

GiGi returns. This time she comes back with a lot of romantic issues. Randy (also known as Professor Quirk) is causing the barrier between David and GiGi. GiGi, unbeknownst to her, is partially responsible for her actions. David is responsible for his actions while Randy remains a good friend with both of them. I have no idea how they would be good friends, but anything could be possible.

Fight to the Finish stars Bruiser and Mystic this time. Plus, there are some insider's information about TL. There is plus, but I should stop talking about the very fast plot. Instead, I should discuss the book as a whole. Maybe that will help me from talking about spoilers and little details here and there.

Before I talk about the book as a whole, I have to tell you that I'm very disappointed in the ending. I mean that girl in the end is a killer, who is alleged to be involved in manslaughter, murdering people, extortion, and everything else in between.

As a whole, Fight to the Finish is a very exciting read. There are things from fighting to mystical/paranormal intervention. It is all very interesting for a very short book of about one hundred and fifty pages. It is a bit unusually short for a book. It is loads of fun, best for a young reader who doesn't want to read.

Rating: Four out of Five

Once again, a fun read. The latter books of this series seem a little better, but that could just be because I've grown attached to the characters and/or because they're developed enough to do more interesting things.

Overall, this series was written passably well, although a bit stereotypically. The author uses made-up countries and tribes, which is probably a good thing, otherwise it would be blatantly obvious that the countries and cultures are caricatures and/or made with what could easily have been found watching television or a quick google search.

This last volume in particular had terrible editing. I read the electronic version, so hopefully that's the culprit, but it wasn't just the capitalization errors at the beginning of each chapter. There were incorrect word usages, misspellings, wrong tenses and commonly mispelled/misused words ("to" instead of "too"). At times, this volume seemed rushed, or like some middle school kid got a hold of the premise and wrote it. Hopefully this isn't going to be the norm with more books being published electronically.

Plot-wise, I was a little bummed that this volume combined the stories of two of the Separatists instead of giving each character their own (as in previous volumes), but it ended up working well. I also thought that this volume was less annoying, but that could merely be because the main character and her boyfriend broke up at the beginning of the book, so I didn't have to deal with the frequent mushy thoughts and scenes.

I liked the book because I simply loved the rest of the series. I however think that the book was too short. It felt like there was a rush to tie all of the loose ends. Needless to say the ends were tied they were just done in a sloppy manor. There could have been more about Kelly and her sister. I also felt there was a story developing with Breaker and Randy. I still don't know who was following Kelly. One great thing in this book was the fight scenes. It felt like I was watching them on tv as I read. It's too bad there won't be another book to really give the readers the ending they deserve and the closure I really want. I thoroughly enjoyed this series and world recommend it to anyone looking for a quick escape!!!

I liked the series and the only problem I had with it was that it was too generic. Each book had GiGi going for a mission with one of the team members. The mission they had was usually connected with one of the member's past. They also discovered new family members of the team mate. They went to a new place, GiGi learnt some new skills and they succeeded. Even in the last book, the attempt to create a love triangle was pathetic. The only thing this series lacked was originality. I would have enjoyed the books much more if each book had some unpredictable plot and not a set pattern. The only deviation from said pattern was that the last two team mates didn't get their own individual books. GiGi didn't even have any close relation with Bruiser and Mystic.

Absolutely loved this book! I was my very favorite out of the whole series!!!!!! The characters are amazing and the fighting in this one was awesome! I was on the edge of my seat during the whole fighting sequence!!! I loved the romantic dinner between Mystic and Bruiser!!! I thought it was so funny I was laughing so hard I almost started crying!!! I also loved the part where Mystic was teaching Chapling how to swin I could totally see him flapping his arms trying to tread water! Hilarious. I do wish there was a little more kissing between David and GiGi. But maybe someday Shannon will continue with the series when everyone is a little older and we can see how everyone turned out!
