Not just drawing, but painting and collaging too. Really nice book for anyone looking for a way to begin creating in paper and paint. Love the idea of using masters' artworks as inspiration for color and design. Following the projects step by step would be a helpful and enjoyable workshop for newbies to experiment and play.

I think it's really important to understand that this isn't a book for ~artists~. This is a book that promotes creativity as healing, and the goal is not to become AMAZING at the end (although you might! Go you!)

I like that this book was accessible from a lot of levels, and played with different materials and mediums that most people don't really think of. And it wasn't focused on a final outcome, but on finding a process you enjoy that induces calm and relieves stress. It's accessible from any level, however "unartistic" you think of yourself. You can put water on tissue paper! You can draw circles. You can make hash marks and stick figures. Have fun.

Awful

I have seen so many “art” books that should never have seen the light of day, but this is the worst. Every time something caught my eye, it was a painting by a long dead master. Then came the step by step attempt to make something similar, which was sub kindergarten to say the kindest thing. If yoinked already capable of finger painting and cutting triangles and squares from paper, do not bother with this book. How will any aspiring artists ever learn anything if this is the level to which published instruction books have sunk?

Wonderful. This is a great book if you just want to play with creative projects as a form of chilling out or meditation. It is NOT an instruction book for artists. The instructions are not about technique. Rather, it's about going with the flow, picking your colors, interesting ideas to get you started. That nudge you need to get your fingers in the paint.

I highly recommend reading the introduction on pages, eight and nine to get an idea of what the book is about. This two page in introduction, almost rises to the level of poetry.

Really?

There is nothing related to drawing in this book. It is a multi media guide using collage, paint, stencils and so on... if you’re interested in multi media projects, you might enjoy it!

Quite an interesting book with lots of fairly simple projects inspired by several well-known artists.
