Short, pithy, and with a good range of solved examples. This is an excellent book to read after high school, possibly before ISLR.

Excellent. The perfect warm up for learning in stats and DA. This book was a jumping off book for more complex topics in regression, Bayesian statistics, time series analysis and multi-level models.
