OK. My period of good behavior is over. I can't help spouting off my opinions on this one ...

I know others really enjoyed this book, but it didn't gel with me for several reasons.

The book opens with Rachael Henderson jilted at the altar for the 2nd time. Still wearing her wedding dress, she drives like a mad woman to her hometown of Valentine, Texas to exact her revenge. (Valentine is one of those make-believe theme towns that capitalizes on romance, hearts and happily ever after.) Rachael is ar

I found "Addicted to Love" by Lori Wilde to be a fun and humorous story. In a way, it was an anti-romance romance. If that confuses you, read on!

Rachael grew up in Valentine, Texas where everything, and I do mean EVERYTHING in town glorifies the idea of romance. From the huge bride mascot at the entrance to town to parking meters shaped like hearts, Valentine's whole economy is built on the tourism trade of love. But when Rachael is dumped at the altar for a second time AND her Dad lets spill th

Rachael Henderson is running from the torment of being stood up at the alter. She is running to Valentine, Texas, her home town. While defacing a billboard, she is reconnect with Brody Carlton, the town sheriff and her first crush. That is where all of her trouble starts. She is always falling for the "meet cute" guy. The one who comes in to save the day but Rachael will have none of it. She forms a local chapter of Romanceaholics so that this does not happen to someone else. The group expands a ...more

Rachel Henderson is fed up with romance especially after being dumped at the altar, not once but twice! She blames it on her hometown of Valentine Texas and is determined to punish the town for putting the idea of romance in her head from when she was a young girl. On top of being left at the altar, she finds out that her parents are divorcing on her wedding day. Definitely not one of her better days.

Rachel is angry and drives the 400 miles from Houston to Valentine to seek her revenge on Valent

Rachel Henderson is over romance. Jilted yet again by her ex-fiance, she returns to her home town of Valentie, Texas and decides to do a bit of redecorating as in paint the red lips on the famous billboard black. She's caught and ends up in jail, just great for the day she's been having. On top of everything, she found out her parents are getting divorced which really makes her day from hell perfect. Her first crush, war veteran turned Sheriff, Brody Carlton is the one that arrests for defacing ...more

If you are looking for a really good book to read this is it. In fact I have read them twice now. Rachael Henderson was born and raised in Valentine, Texas. If your mind jumped to the holiday then yes you’re right on track. Only this town and it people engulf the whole love, romance, and happily ever after like Valentine’s Day on steroids.
You see Rachael was sold the myth that someday her knight in shiny armor would come and whisk her away and they would live as one. So, far though all it ever

Very good book - my favorite of the series so far. Rachael has given up on love. She was just left at the altar for the second time, so she heads for her hometown. She blames Valentine for giving her unrealistic expectations and takes it out on the town landmark - a giant set of lips which she paints black. She is promptly arrested by Sheriff Brody Carlton - the same guy she had a crush on when she was a child. She is sentenced to community service, and while she's at it starts a Romanceaholics ...more

You know the saying “Fool me once, shame on you; Fool me twice, shame on me.” Well Rachael Henderson is really familiar with it. She had been left at the altar twice now! Watch out as Rachael is out for revenge and what better place to get your revenge then Rachael’s hometown… Valentine, Texas. A town full of romantics and believers of true love. The last person Rachael expected to see what Sheriff Brody Carlton. Rachael’s first crush.

Sheriff Brody Carlton gets called out because someone is def

This is a solid 4-star romance. It's the 3rd in the series about a magical wedding veil which grants your deepest need, not necessarily what you think you want. The first in the series was excellent, the 2nd was just OK, but this is back to very good again. The premise is sort of silly, about a woman who feels she's been romanced-to-death and that romantic notions and idealistic dreams are ruining her life. She begins a 12-step program called Romanceaholics Anonymous. See what I mean? Silly. But ...more

Wounded Hero Review

I really liked this book. The hero, Brody, is a sheriff who lost his leg below the knee in the war. His leg isn't really discussed a WHOLE lot, and he has a very fancy prosthetic leg that makes his life a lot easier. So from a wounded hero standpoint, that might be a bit disappointing to some. However, it's a good book and there are some scenes that are really well-done with him being insecure about his injury and worried about the heroine's reaction. There was a very hot scen

The Wedding Veil wishes continue! Rachael is an adorable starry eyed romantic who can't catch a break in the love department. After she's jilted twice at the altar, she returns to Valentine, Texas and decides on boycotting romance once and for all in her hometown that started it all. Brody is the town sheriff and instantly feels a need to look out for the whimsical Rachael from his childhood. He's not a believer of true love and Rachael has vowed to stay away from love. Addicted to Love became rather irritating at times on how much the hatred of romance was mentioned... However our hero was humbling. A strong cowboy sheriff who fought for his country lost his leg but believed that the perfect woman was worth waiting for.... Yes please!

Our girl overcomes the ultimate humiliation and our studly hero stands by her every step of the way. AND unlike most "damsel" books, she shows him that he is no less of a hero now that he only has one leg.

This is a really quick r

Abandoned at the altar--for the second time!--a jilted bride defaces the billboard advertising the romance of her little hometown of Valentine Texas. Arrested by her childhood boy-next-door, now sheriff, she promptly decides that what's wrong with her is her addiction to romance. She then starts up an organization of Romanceaholics Anonymous--an organization that is dangerously at odds with the town's mayor and tourism industry...and still finds that sheriff very attractive. I would sum this book up in one word: sweet. It left me feeling all warm and fuzzy because the two main characters (Rachael Henderson and Sheriff Brody Carlton) were so, so meant to be with each other. There are both lovable, warm, sweet characters and there wasn't really anything too nasty that happened between them. I guess that's not surprising given the book is based around Rachael and her Romanceaholics Anonymous club - determined to debunk the romanticised notions of love and happily-ever- ...more

'Addicted to Love' by Lori Wilde is the third book in the Wedding Veil Wishes series, and it is another winner! Along with the main romance/anti-romance storyline there are a number of other strong romances intertwined. The theme is a bit silly but I found it a fun and light-hearted read. The story has added depth with the hero – who really is a hero – coming to terms with dating again after his trauma. I enjoyed the brief updates into the lives of the friends from the other books. The third book in the Wedding Veil Wishes series. I thought that the book was funny and had a decent story (I could picture this book and/or series being made into a movie). The author is funny and witty like Jennifer Cruise.

The book opens with the main character, Rachael Henderson, being left at the alter after her husband-to-be takes a cell phone call call. Turns out he's been drafted by the Chicago Bears and chooses football over a bride. Rachael then drives like a mad woman to her hometown

Book 3 in the series. I liked that the hero supported the heroine enough to let her find her way to stand on her own and become her own person before she could commit to him. I missed the friends from the first two in the series. Because it was set in another town, they were only involved in the very beginning, which was unfortunate. Part of the reason I like reading series like this is to see how the friendships evolve and deepen based on each member's romantic experiences.

New author and apparently I have to track down books 2 and 3 (I have #4). A little tedious at times (all right already, we get it!). I couldn't decide if I liked the tertiary romance (the mayor and Giada) because his suave moments also came across as him being a stalker. Fun book though; I'll keep reading.

I am a girl in love with romance and I ended up married to a man that doesn't have a romantic bone in his body. But that is okay. Addicted to Romance is a lovely read that made me laugh out loud. And Lori Wilde has a way of writing happy endings for Iraq/Afghanistan war vets that makes my little heart happy.

I'm going back and forth between a two to three star rating. The reason I started reading this series is because the 4th book in this series received really good reviews. However, I found this particular book entertaining at times and really bland/boring at other times.

This is a book to read if u have time on your hands.

Very cute. The main character can be a little annoying with her anti-love campaign, but I ended up just rolling my eyes every time she does that.

Great chemistry between the two. Slow building, but strong enough!

The parents also irritated me... but for good reasons. hahaha.

Definitely Read

To believe in romance, and yet anti-romantic. In the middle of the story, so many people got involved in the hype, but who would not be, with only less than 2000 pop in Valentine, Texas. A good read though.
Shh I'm reading!

Just did a reread and realized that the book was still enjoyable even though I found the heroine a little irritating this time around. The characters were funny, the writing fast paced, the love stories were sweet and I closed my nook with a smile on my face.

Very sweet story about to broken hearts who have to find their way to each other on two different paths. Their is more than one love story going on in and around the to main characters.

Thanks for writing.

Cute story. Where can I find Brody for myself? The story lacked in substance in several places so it didn't make sense at times between scenes. Overall, cute story, crazy woman, handsome hero... I enjoyed it.

Lori Wilde can’t remember a time when she didn’t want to write. She even went to nursing school so she could have a schedule flexible enough to allow her to write on the side. She nursed for 20 years, working in a variety of settings from the newborn nursery to the recovery room, to dialysis. But she never lost her desire to write.
