In the past, I tended towards busyness without much awareness. Much of the time, it was like I was chasing after my life rather than living it. Knowing that I needed to change, I have tried many different methods, including meditation, to quiet my mind and reduce stress. This led me to Matrix Meditations.

Matrix Meditations is set up as a 16 week meditation program which guides the reader through a series of exercises, visualizations, and meditations. As the reader gains more experience through practice, the demands are generally increased as well. In this way, the first exercises are straight forward and easy to accomplish.

Four types of meditation are presented: mindfulness meditations, concentrative meditations, adventures in awareness, and contemplative meditations. Exercises are also grouped according to the four qualities of being: mind, physical, emotion, and action. One exercise for each of these characteristics is presented each week.

After a while, it becomes very obvious which type of meditation works for your needs. In this way, meditation ceases to be a fight and naturally deepens when using certain techniques. Even while practicing new exercises each week, you’ll find particular meditations that you use on a daily or as needed basis.
