If you like trains, you will love this book. Carlos Schwantes, a leading transportation historian, offers in this book a series of personal essays about his own experiences riding trains, mostly in the U.S. and also in Europe. Although not a professional photographer, Schwantes accompanies his essays with highly effective photos that he has taken during these train travels. Although I have ridden trains only a few times, I thoroughly enjoyed the ride through this book.
