I picked this up at our local secondhand bookshop; I have a weakness for pirate books and this one had a few facts I hadn't read before (eg. why pirates wore earrings) as well as an excellent overview of the history of piracy right from ancient Sumeria to present day. I especially enjoyed the chapter recounting Ann Bonny and Mary Reid's story.
